The gt comes with 8" rims standard, not sure what v-6 has, but I know the car/chassis is not different, and you can but at least 10" rims on the rear, and 9" front. I would definately re-think the skinny rims

Wow mate, that's an awesome link! And I found the wheels that someday will adorn my mineral gray 05 GT:
18x9 up front with 255/50/18 and 18x10 in the rear with 295/45/18

What brand are these?

I dig those, I'm thinking about the same wheels. B)

Yes, as Adrenalin said - American Racing is the brand, "Rebel" is the model

Found out more about these rims. 18x10 with a 30mm offset and 18x9 with a 25 mm offset. With the rim calc program they are almost perfect to matching the factory offset of 45mm. I will be getting a set of these fitted sometime in the spring.

Here are the rebels on a stang. Personally the tire profile they used is too low for me. Looks ok in the back but the front gap is too much.

As far as I know, the shaker that CDC is making is functional. Price will most likely be over $1,000.00 if you want their fiberglass hood. If you want to save some cash you have to cut a hole in your hood.

I think this will prove it: We all know the old SN95 had the problem that the rear rims were too deep into the wheel well, even if you put a 9" with a big fat tire on it on there. Saleen solved this by creating a custom fit 10" wide rim with a 22 mm ET value. (Their 9" front rim are ET 24). This 10" did exactly what I descibed above, it came out a lot more and filled the huge wheel well perfectly.
Now we have all seen pics of 9x18 SN95 rims mounted on 05's sticking out too far. Imagine if you were to put a set of Saleen 10" ones on an 05. Dub city!
Also... since Ford has changed the rear axle on the 05 so the rear rims are no longer too much inward I personally don't think you shoud put a wider rim in the rear than the front. It simply doesn't need it anymore like the old car did. I have yet to see an 05 with 10" in the rear that doesn't look look a tractor. 9" is wide enough to fill it out perfectly.
Hope this helps...
