What about these rims? I think they look perfect on the 05, just my opinion though.

Cragar advertised these a couple of years ago. Kinda like the old Keystone Klassic wheels. I've never seen any in use though.

I was saying I didn't like the wheels on Starsky and Hutch's car.

the 18" Magnum 500's are 445 for the 18 x 8 and 466 for the 18 x 9.5. 17" would be a little less. Big bucks but, I'll save and get what I want.

The problem with the Magnum 500 wheels is that you are trading away brake cooling for the looks. There is very little air flow through the wheel. I like the look of seeing big fat rotors through the wheels, and frankly the Magnums, while looking nice, remind me too much of the stamped steel ones sold in the 70's and 80's.

Weight is a criteria for me. I don't want my car to get slower due to added weight. That's why the good SSRs and BBS wheels are all very expensive... they are very light, very good wheels.

Those are pretty cool as they kind of resemble the bullets but pretty expensive too.

Edit: Speaking of the chrome bullets... Does anyone know how much extra those chrome bullets with knock-offs run? I see that there not actually an option but seem to be an"accessory" according to the mustang brochure. I hope that doesn't mean you have to buy the car with regualar bullets then purchase those rims if you wanted them.

You're talking about the ones from Ford right? In the accessory brochure? I was quoted like $220 per. The guy I talked to basically said yea, you have to buy them separetly, but that I should take the old ones from the car and try to sell em on ebay or something.

I like like seeing cross drilled rotors with painted calipers through the rims. Add Braided steel brakelines as well.

yeah that's what I was talking about. That's stupid why can't they offer that as an option? Oh wait I know cause they want to get more money out of you. I guess that's what I'll have to do unless I see some aftermarkets I like better for the same price.

I got out of HS in 63 - so my car "heat" was right there in that time frame. I just looked up that Starsky & Hutch car and yup those slotted mags were EVERYWHERE. I never had any of them but they did look good on several cars.

I think it was American Racing that had what they called ET Mags - those were very popular as well. I put them on my new 65 426 Plymouth.

I don't remember what time from but Centerline also popular wheels. I bought a high dollar rear wheel ( spun alum ) for my bike 10 years ago that look like it was prob made by Centerline. Other Harleys have a "disc" wheel but it is nothing like what I am talking about.

To me the epitome of a cool wheel of the times would be Cragar SS.

I am broke I can't buy squat but even with my limited puter graphics abilities - I have managed to graft those Cragar wheels onto my desktop pics of my white/red 05 of the future. They look awesome.

IMO, the clean uncluttered looks of the 05 demand one wheel - the 03 Cobra in 18"

Can someone tell me please if American Racing makes the torq thrust 2 in the chrome version(I know that they makes the torq thrust D in chrome but only in 16 inches ,I need 17 inches)and if they'll makes the 45mm offset to fit with our stang :worship: :worship: :worship:

I think American Racing does make chrome plated torque thrust, but I'm not sure if they fit 05 Mustangs.....

I love the B. Coddington Smoothie II wheels. I am planning on getting those next year with the GT convertible. Here is another place to get them.............a little cheaper.

Sweet! $1500 for a set of four BC Smoothie II's! Are they the wheels only or is it a wheel and tire package, cuz the one from Discount Tires is a 18" wheel and tire package for $1800? I'm thinkin about getting them for my '03 stang.

Your site doesn't say it is a wheel and tire package, only a set of 4 wheels for $1500.
