retard wheel/tire question
Hello everyone. I have been searching this forum and the web for some time now, and decided that I need to just post a question to get some answers for me. Thanks in advance for the assistance, I appreciate it.
I am thinking about buying a set of American Racing Shelby Razor rims 18x9. I am wondering what size tire I should go with to 1) fill the wheel gap as much as possible 2)ensure the wheels stay tucked under the fenders.
Also, on the American Racing website, they state the the wheels are a +24mm offset, although everywhere else I see mustang wheels, they state the the rims should be a +34-45 offset. Am I going to need to purchase special back spacers or something in order to get these rims to fit properly?
Thanks for the help. This is my 1st RWD car that I have owned, and am completely retarded when it comes to wheel fitments. Again, thanks for the assistance, let the flaming (and help i hope) commence!

If you want your rims and tires to be inside your fender lip, DO NOT BY A RIM WITH ANYTHING BUT A 35 -45 MM OFFSET. I bought saleen replicas with a 24mm offset. They look fabulous, but they are meant for 94-04 Stangs, even though OE Wheel Distributors in Sarasota say they fit 05&06. They do but the wheels sit out too far and put a strain on the suspension. The car rides rougher and there is a lot of kickback in the steering wheel because the wheels are out so far.
Mustangs are rough enough ride wise without adding to it by using the wrong offset. Trust a reliable wheel dealer and remember the stock offset is45mm. I learned the hard way. There are no such thing as back spacers, check Discount Tires'website the have a lot of useful information on plus size tires and how to interpret wheel specifications. Please don't get a 24 offset no matter how good the deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

255/45-18's work well on 18x9's. You can also put 275/40-18's on the back if you like. Some guys put 275/40's all the way around. These sizes give you a large selections of brands to choose from.
Here are some pics of my 255/45-18's. My car is not lowered.

Try and keep the overall diameter the same as stock. Use this web site to compare sizes.

Thanks
Thank you for the insight on the offset and tire decisions. Guess I won't be going with a +24 offset, only problem now is that you cannot buy the razors in 18" dia. with a +40 offset, on;y the 17's. Now I have to make a decision, smaller wheels, or different wheels altogether? Crap, I hate making decisions like this!!
-Greg, love your wheels! I too have a windveil blue stang and tried a few photochops with those rims on there, I like the look!
