replica California Dream hood
Is buying a replica version of the cali dream hood a good buy or is it taking a risk. The hood will be the focal point of the car and i dont want an inferior product. What do you guys think? here is a link to the pics

Take into consideration price, company and their time in business, the fact if anyone has anything to say about them, their customer service and overall expectations of the final product.

he said it was an exact replica. im just a litte worried about buying a replica, replicas for the most part are never as good as the original. actually im a little bothered because i was getting one off of ebay from the company for 450 and this guy said that he could get me a new one for the same price, and it took until after the auction was over to gimme full details and than upon me asking him directly did he reveal that it was a replica

I disagreed with you regarding RKSport is the original design of the hood. If you look at the 05 GT concept, that is where they get the style from. Just becuase they name it "California Dream" doesnt mean that are the original disign of the hood. Check out Cervinis....they have a hood call "Concept" and it look exactly like the RK hood. The diff is the air duct to the CAI.
I would stick to reputable company who back their products and and have good feedback...

I'm thinking whether you get an original or replica isn't nearly as important as the quality of the hood. If the body shop has to spend 20 hours re-shaping the hood to fit your car than you didn't get much of a hood. And if the hood is too thin in spots you need to be able to go back to the manufacturer and have them replace the hood before it goes on your car.
Just as 5150 said, stick to a reputable company that stands behind their products 100%!!
