I was wondering..... if you change exhaust tips, do the new ones slide on over top of the existing, or do you remove what is there first???

upstate put the chrome tips from fordaccessories.com on his '05 GT. They cost approximately $50 per tip.
I plan on getting these also. Here's a couple of pictures that he posted on the "Exterior Mods" section. I hope you don't mind me posting these upstate?:

Hi PonyGirl
Check my post that I attached. The second paragraph has the part number of the tips I used. You would have to go to a muffler shop & have them tack welded to the stock mufflers. They have a great finish, even inside the tip.
I would recommend stainless over chrome, & 4" fills the valance very nicely. Then get a can of black hot paint & paint the body of the mufflers so you can't see them as much. Pic on page 2

Pics have been moved to page 2 for tips

Any questions just ask.

Call Summit & see what they have.
If not call a good muffler shop & give them the Volt tip # in my post. Ask them how much to just install the tips to the stock mufflers. It shouldn't cost more then $100 total. I had special pipes made to delete the mufflers & it cost me $200 with the tips.
Do it once & do it right. The stainless will last the life of the car. Chrome will rust & those cheap screw on tips fall off.
