I have been told there are two locating holes behind each GT emblem for the locating pins to pass through, but no speed nuts holding them on, just double sided foam adhesive tape.

Yes, there are two holes left when you remove the GT emblems. You can see their placement on this picture.

Wha...?

So let me get this straight, they make holes to locate a badge. How do they make the holes? Are there two different fenders? Seems like a kind of jig or tempate of some kind could do the same trick and not need holes. They did it with the oval trunk emblems, right?

That's so stupid... I'm disappointed.

So, I wonder if I can order V6 fenders on a GT if I wanted?

Dang, I am flabbergasted at the holes. I just cannot believe it. What idiot came up with that? If it were old style 60s barrel clips, sure, but just to straighten the badge when using sticky back tape?

MAN, that's dumb.

Did I say it's dumb? Well it is.

Sheesh.

I'm gonna go faint now.

HOLES. To center on a fender. That's just gotta mean two extra part numbers, driving up the cost of the car. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Next they'll be drilling holes to line up decals.

MAN, that's dumb.

how hard is it to remove the emblems? I have toying with the idea of having the 4.6 emblems replace the GT ones, since I have the GT300 decals............anyone have any tips on how to replace emblems? What if the prongs on the 4.6 emblem dont match up? How do I apply the new emblem, so it wont fall off?

Thanks everyone.......

ALSO..where can I get a decent looking 4.6 emblem?

Best way to remove the emblem without scratching the paint is with strong fishing line. The fishing monofilament line will slide undedr the emblem and slice under the adhesive up to the point of the pins. Then just pull the emblem off.
