Remove rocker panels to install body kit?

I'm still thinking about putting on a set of the black V6 rocker panels to give my car a leaner look like the 07 GT500. When you add a complete body kit do you remove the rocker panels or just install the aftermarket ones on top of the stock ones?
Is there anyone out there who has swapped theirs out for the painted GT versions? I'm not looking to do a swap, in case I ever want to put the originals ones back on.

Why wouldn't you just paint the rocker panels you have black instead of getting the V6 ones. Anyway, if you are adding a body kit, that includes rocker panels I am pretty sure you remove the originals first.

Jason, I would think that you take the rocker panel off. I know on the chin spoiler, you attach it to the stock bumper... but that's because the chin spoiler is much smaller than the bumper. The stock rocker panels are most likely taken off and the new rocker is attached using the stock holes and probably even the stock clips.

No one has put a full body kit on a V6 yet?

Changed the stock black V6 for the GT painted ones, it's fairly simple but have to be carefull.
INSTRUCTION:
First remove the two (on each side) pins at the front wheel well.
Use a small flat screwdriver to get under the inner pin and pry it out. Then get under the other piece and pry out.
To take out the nine plastic pins located on the underside of the rocker panel,
use a needle nose plier and get under the lip and pry out use a small piece of wood as leverage, you could also use thos specialzed tools to remove those pins. It's like a large flat srewdriver with a slot in the blade and it's angled at the tip.
The next obstacle are the 6 white plastic clips that attach the panel to the vehicle's side. Pry the panel out from the rear and move it towards the front of the vehicle and push up. It's a one at a time procedure. It is really difficult to explain but fairly clear once you get to them.
Start at the rear and work forward. The last pin in the front needs to be pulled out staigth because i'ts different from others.
The clips stay on the vehicle and can be removed with needle nosed pliers, or push the pins laps toward the inside with the small screwdriver.
Before you start you may want to order the pins and clips from Ford as the black pins from underneath get pretty well destroyed by removing them.
You will need 18 and the P/N is: W710532*S300.
The white clips that attach to the side can be reused if removed with care.
It's too bad that your'e going to get good at it and you only have one car to do !!!!
It took me about 40 min to do both sides.
Have fun !
