Remove GT/CS Stripe?

I have a VB GT/CS and I just ordered 10" white stripes to put on her. I never really cared much for the side stripes in black on the VB. I was wondering if anyone has removed them and how they did it? Also, are there any GT/CS badges out there I could put in it's place? Or am I going to have to settle for the regular GT badges?

I think the stripes on the VB CS are too dark. Needs something that would stand out like maybe a shade of silver. To remove them, grab a heat gun and heat it up a little bit at a time and it should peeled right off...just takes time.

Hopefully the place that is installing my stripes next week can remove the GT/CS stripes for me so I don't have to.

I would love to see some pics of your GT/CS with the stripes added. Especially stripes added to a black VB.

UH, No offense but why would you want to pretend you have a shelby when you don't. That is like putting on a phoney muscle suit and entering the mr. universe contest. Obviously you don't have any real mustang fan friends, cause they would have stopped you from embarrasing yourself. The car looks good but please take off the shelby lettering on the back. Thats just wrong. IMO

+1, I agree, if you are going to make it into a Shelby clone...at least use the right parts: Hood, engine, etc. The fact that the car is a CS should be good enough. I would love to have a Shelby but not for the price...if you want to do the same, put the shelby hood, grill, etc. at least the outside will look correct. If I see it on the road...I will have to laugh, sorry man, IMHO.

The blue and white is one of my favorite combo's...but I have to agree - the Shelby lettering/badges are too over the top for my tastes. See if you can have GT/CS badges made or even have BSM make you GT/CS graphics (subtle) that you could put in place of the Shelby stuff. Be proud of that GT/CS!!

There are sites out there that sell the fading side stripe in other colors, seems the easiest way to maintain your GT/CS moniker.

Dan,
Do your thing !
I wanted black stripes on my GT/CS, but Ford wouldn't put them on my car because I ordered it with a hood scoop.
It's getting the black stripes put on tonite.

We have ordered a Black stripe kit for or '07 GT/CS, it is the same kit as used in 1968.

It will extend the stripe from the front fender, down the door and put the GT/CS lettering on the side scoops.

Will post pics when it arrives and is installed.

We ordered it from one of the Mustang Restoration catalogs, it is actually the replacement stripe kit for the 1968 GT/CS coupe.

The wife says she thought it was CJ Pony Parts. I'll check with her to be sure and post an answer.

It was CJPONYPARTS.com
