Rear louvers : ABS or Aluminum?

Hey all,

I wanna get some rear window louvers to further complement the retro look of my Stang, and I wanted opinions on which are better, the plastic (ABS) or aluminum ones? I think the ABS are about $100 cheaper, and probably lighter. A friend of mine has the aluminum ones and says that they scratch kind of easy.

Input?

I really don't care much for the look of the plastic ones. The aluminum ones look much better in my opinion. Amazon had a great deal on these awhile back. I ended up getting mine for about $250. It appears that they are not in stock right now though...

Anyways, here's a photo of mine.

I want to get louvers for my mustang, and I was having this same discussion with KC about this, he made a great point. If you are some place that gets a lot of sun, the ABS might warp or discolor if you don't keep the car garaged. The aluminum ones should be worth the extra money in the long run, but they do look different and that's personal preference.

The ABS buckle and bulge as the temp goes up in down. They also block more of your vision out the rear window. Aluminum all the way ....

Thanks! I'm real happy with the look and as a bonus, they really cut down on the heat from the sun.

After looking @ pics of the plastic ones, I went with aluminum here also. Personal preference. I've got the MRT/Visus ones myself, they have 1 less slat than the Astro-Hammond ones, but the fact they're hinged & make cleaning the window easier are a + for me.

If you really want retro then you've got to go with metal!
