Racing stripes not even?

Racing stripes not even?
I put 12" lemans stripes on the hood of my 2008 mustang, they're wider in the middle than on the top and bottom of the hood. Just want to know if this is normal or did i screw it up?

If you man "fatter", they are cut like that to look straight …. as they go over the bulge of the hood.
