Racing Stripes??
Racing Stripes??
I have a Black 07' GT/CS Vert with Tan top and Blk/Parchment Interior...I was thinking to either put on Matte black racing stripes or possibly Parchment to match the Interior and Vert Top....any suggestions?? Anyone ever seen pics of Tan stripes???
Secondly....do you think it is bad to put stripes on a GT/CS...due to the fact that is not how "It Came"??

If you like stripes, put them on. After all, look at all the cars that have stripes on them that never came like that from factory (mine is a perfect example
I say do what you want. As for tan stripes, can't say I have ever seen anyone do that so here is a thought. Go to a sign company that would have a sample of vinyl that closely matches the car. You don't have to get it installed. Just have them roll out a piece of vinyl and lay it on the hood of the car (again, just lay it on there. don't have it installed). You will get an idea if you think it will be a bit too much. All I can say is I think verts look silly with racing stripes while the top is up. Now when the top is down, they look really nice.

I was thinking the same thing also about the stripes with the top up... here in Florida the only Vert with stripes I have seen was when it was down...never seen one while it was up...so no idea.

These are a pearl finish, like on the Lincolns, not a true white but not Parchment either, I think it looks good
but it's my car. Dealer questioned me a few times about the color but when it was done they liked it too.
Oh BTW, mine are painted on.

Painting is the only way to go with Racing stripes...

. Its not just a few little squares, but pulling the bumpers and completely repainting them. Now that it has been wrecked and the front bumper has to be replaced, it will have stripes on it.Now that I think about it, wonder what they will charge to do the rear
Once my customer is done with his car, I'll ask him if he doesn't mind me posting a few shots of it. What he is doing is putting gold Shelby stripes on his Black GT/CS. They will go bumper to bumper, and cover the hood scoop. Now, here is the kicker, he REMOVED the GT/CS stripe and ordered a gold rocker stripe from Baltimore Street Mods, and the stripe says GT/CS where it would say GT500, GT300, etc, in front of the doors, in the exact same font as the factory stripe! He stopped over at work with it partially done (rocker stripes on, and hood done), and WOW!!! This car when finished will look SICK!!! It will look like a GT-H, but its a Cali Special, with custom GT/CS rocker stripes instead of the higher applied black stripes!! I'll have pics (if allowed) soon!!!

I'd be interested to see them on a vert with tan too though
CT/CS Made to look like GT-H
I am the guy that 05fordgt is talking about. I have learned much from this forum, so I'm happy to share pictures! I wanted a GT-H but (a) Didn't want to spend $70K+ for a used rental car and (b) I wanted a manual! I ordered mine with the Parchment and Black interior, and applied the stripes myself. I tried to be as true to a GT-H as possible. For example, the spoiler is NOT striped, because the GT-H is not striped there either. My stripes are 2" apart, whereas the GT-H's stripes are a little closer. I could not adjust this because the stripes had cutouts for the winshield washers. Having said all that, I didn't want to try to pass mine off as a GT-H. It's a GT/CS, so it still wears that proudly on the side. I hope you like it!
P.S. I haven't posted pictures to the site before, so please accept my advance apologies if I need a couple of tries...

A+++. I love it, especially the rocker stripe. Very tastefully done and one of the best looking rides I've seen on here
