18X9.5 5-114.3 40

This width wheel and offset is not listed for the Mustang on Tire Rack or Discount Tire. The closest I have seen is this width with a 42 mm offset.

I checked the tire and wheel calculators. They stated the wheel would extend an extra 24 mm. (24 millimeters = 0.94488189 inches)

My question is if a 285 tire size on this wheel would extend beyond the rear wheel well.

The stock wheels sit in a hair over an inch. If the new wheels extend 24mm (which is under an inch) it should be about flush with the fender.

yes, it will extend beyond the wheel well about an inch.

I just had 9" wide 25mm offset bullits installed with 245 40 18 tires (which will be comin off tommorow for some 255, 55 18's.... and they were dead flush with the wheel well.

i would say with an added in in overall width of your rims, and overhang of the tire it will stick out about half inch or so.

when i get the new tires i will post pics...

hope this helps!!

Johnny, you do realize that 255 55 18's are not the correct size to keep the overall diameter, speedo and ride height the same. Your profile should be 45.

yeah i realize that, but i will reprogram the speedo, and lower the car. i got the eibach pro kit, and camber plates/panhard rod on the way. the car gets 4.10 rear gears tommorow so im not too worried about losing low end pull with the big tires either. i just cant dig this funky look with thr tires narrower than the rims....

thanks for the concern though!!
