I'm sorry to start a new thread about ducktails but I can't find any specific information searching.

How many folks have put their CDC ducktails on with just the tape. Is tape good enough to hold it on functionally and cosmetically? I really can't stand the thought of putting sheetmetal screws into the car. I know one person on here put his street scene ducktail on with just tape and it was OK. I'm just wondering the same would be true for the CDC product.

I'll get the CDC ducktail if it can be just taped on with out the drilling. I love the look.

Now just put this on a tungsten!

Thanks for the help.

I haven't installed mine yet but I have the same question. I have had it up to 130 while dusting a vet. I wonder if my spoiler would have blown off if I had installed it with just tape.

Well when you get it installed please post your results. I know we can't be the only ones concerned about drilling into a brand new car.

I may go with the street scene ducktail if taping on the CDC is not feasible. I know Acadian put his SS on with just tape with no problems according to him (looks great by the way)..

One of the main reasons I'm getting the CDC classic chin spoiler is there is no drilling involved and it looks awesome.

Again, any help would be appreciated from current CDC ducktail owners.

I wonder the same thing. I got my CDC (painted from parts shopper) sitting on the garage floor. I would install, but not sure if I can put a drill to a brand new car ( my 06 is on order due in by Oct 01). I thought about doing half of it in drilling only 1/2 of the holes or cheating and letting a body shop do it when it is there for the striping. I am sure that CDC decided what would be best? maybe because we might use it as a grab handle in shutting or opening the trunk?

That car looks very familiar Unless you are planning on selling the car right away and don't think that the next owner would want a ducktail then screw away. I don't plan on ever taking my spoiler off and the directions say to screw it on.

Drill and bolt it on. That way you WON'T be sorry! CDC gives you the templates to do it right. Go get some high quality drill bits and you'll have no problems. Take out your taillights prior to drilling your holes... trust me.
