Puddle Lamps

Ford has decided to change the part numbers on the puddle lamps for the 2013 Mustang's that we have been using on our older S197's. The new numbers are:

DR3Z-13B375-B *was (DR3Z-13B375-A) left side puddle
DR3Z-13B374-B *was (DR3Z-13B374-A) right side puddle

I spoke to Todd @ Gaupin Ford, he put the price, shipped, for each side, now at approximately $32.00 each. Thhe right listed before at 60.00 plus and the left at over 100.00. Now we can have both sides, updated so they don't get wet like before, for under $65.00 delivered. That is about 1/2 of what the one was alone before.

This lamp, for the 2010 and up mirrors.

Hey Freidman. What's new. It takes some patience and a Dremel to install on the 2010 and up mirrors, that didn't have them. You grind out a specific area and the lense unit sits right in it. I don't anticipate much problem with them. I had no problem wiring in the Mustang tribar lights, so I'll use that wiring for the Puddles. They were just too expensive before. Now. I can afford another factory mod. lol

Doing some research, it looks like the puddle lamps run off 5 volts like the Shaker systems amps do. I took one of the 7805 Radio Shack voltage regulators (12v to 5v output) and used it. and wired that into the line. I was going to use 1 for each side, but after seeing how little the lasers use for power, I went with the single 7805 and added a plug in harness to use for the other side.

It made the lamps less bright (of course) but it made it look more like the factory originals. Using 12v direct, made it too bright. It doesn't get hot using 5volts either, like when it had the 12volt without the regulator.
