PJ chrome trim on stock GT?

I've been looking at a Parnelli Jones Saleen at a dealership here, and like the chrome around the grille. It looks like this chrome trim is just added onto a stock GT grille. Has anyone tried put apply this to thier stock grille?

Cheers

Saleen has not released that part, and it appears they have no plans to, or they would have done so with the Heritage kit. Same with the trim on the rear.

I have all the heitage parts at the painter as we speak. Front, rear, sideskirts, quarter windows, trunk facia. But no badges, or trim. Maybe someone knows something i dont. I need a set of heritage badges. I have the s281 and 3 valve from saleen, but no HERITAGE!

I came up with my own solution to the saleen chrome trim look. It is a huge savings. The chrome attaches with 3m adhesive.
Also those chrome tail light bezels that are for sale for $70 ( to much $$) I used the same stuff on my grill, tail lights and the exhaust trim.
total cost $ 30 for the trim with the adhesive included.

(*) The pony corral on the grill is from the v6 pony package I found a used medallion for $50. I am bargin (cheap ****) modder always looking for a deal.

I had a similar solution I found here on this site (so whoever did it, I'm sorry that I can't remember who you are, but I'm trying to give you credit!), I bought chrome door edge trim for a truck at Advance Auto for $5 and just took the grill off and pressed it on all around the outer edge of the grill. Surprisingly, if you're careful to keep it straight it doesn't look ghetto at all, in fact from a distance it looks like it's almost factory. I couldn't believe it, and it really livened up the front of the car.

I'm not sure about doing the taillights, but the grill that way looks seemless. I decided to keep it.

yes, the door/fender trim works the best. I bought a 10' roll at autozone.

to finsih off the look, I also applied a small strip of the flat fender molding to the hood and fog lights.

just prep the surface with some rubbing alcohol and peel and stick. No Grille pulling required for this mod

Putting the chrome door trim on the grill is a lot easier when you have the grill off (I was messing with a problem with my fog lights anyway, so I put it on when I had mine off), however I know people have done it with the grill on, just go slow and make sure to get it straight and pressed on all the way and you should be fine.

I only put mine around the sides and bottom of the grill (one continuous line) and didn't do the fogs or the edge of the hood, and I thought it was subtle but nice, and very very worth five bucks.

****, that is a good idea guys. $10 makes a world of difference. That is one mod I can afford to do right now

How is the 3M holding up?

2005Mach1, any pics yet of your new additions?

I'm guessing the trim looks kinda like a "J" with the sticky tape on the flat outside.
What does it stick to, black grill or painted bumper part?

These all look great! Was curious, what did you use to cut the trim so it didn't look rough on the edge?

Mine is attached to the bumper/facia cover closely against the grille edge

I did it last summer with the door edge trim. I does look pretty good. No one has ever caught it unless I pointed it out. I will try to get a picture in the next few weeks. Winter never ends in Michigan.

I used the door edge trim and it's been on for over a year. It looks as good as the day I installed it but the car is garaged and not used during the winter.

Finally getting around to posting this, in case anyone else is thinking of doing this. I really liked the results, and I think they look even better in person, especially for $5...

Looking good 2005 Mach - do you think the GT500 front splitter will fit? For $60 it would be a nice addition.

I did the same thing two years ago to add to my retro look. I took it a little farther...
