Great pics! SLR cameras make all the difference. There are good point and shoots out there. I've had good luck with Canon's. But they still don't look as good as SLR pictures.

Looks great. Are those at all corrected in photoshop or are they right off the camera? If so, I'm impressed.

My wife is forcing me to get her the Canon 12 MP SLR XSI. What a bummer. I know what I'll be using real soon. Anyone have experience or knowledge about this camera?

This is an example of why I'm still undecided on stripes for my car. Your car looks great, very clean and tastefully done.

Very nice camera. Similar features to the XTi which I had for about a year. Why are you bummed about getting the XSi?

I just bought my wife a Sony 14MP one, for less than what the Canon 10MP SLR costs!

You can't beat the Canon photo quality, though. MP's don't mean everything. Canon/Nikon pictures are far superior to Sony's. Most of the time I can look at a picture and tell you that it was taken with a Sony. Sonys have gotten better, but you really can't beat SLR images, and the fact of all the lenses and accessories available.

I was under the impression that SLR is just the style!?

Also, MP have a lot to do with it, you can't compare an SLR 8MP camera to one that is 12+, world of a difference.

If the camera is worth anthing, the lense is interexchangeable, which ours is.

At this point of the game, whether it's Sony, Canon, Nikkon, it's a matter of choice (for a non-professional that is). For a pro, you are definitely more interested in more expensive lenses and frames per second if you do any event photoshoot where you need to capture several images within a second.

True but brand X's 12mp camera will vary quite a bit from brand y's 12 mp camera. It's boils down to the quality of the sensor and the lense, which is where SLR's rule.

Honestly, unless you need to do a lot of cropping (which a good photographer shouldn't need to) or poster prints, 8MP is more than enough. It definitely comes down to the image sensor, and Nikon and Canon have the better sensors, which is why you rarely see a professional using any other digital SLR than Canon or Nikon. My feeling on Sony (as a whole) is that they make products for people who don't know any better. They have a recognizable name. And they don't make bad products, but surely not the best. They don't need to make the best. They have the Sony name. That alone sells enough products for them.

Hmm, not sure I agree. Images on my Minolta Maxxum 7D 6mp were better than those on my Canon 10mp XTi. I had the XTi and upgraded to the 40D. Both are 10mp cameras but the XTi doesn't stand a chance against the 40D in terms of image quality. There is a lot more to cameras than just megapixels which is why you will see 10mp camera prices range from $400.00 to over $5,000.00 just for the body.

I guess we all went a little off topic on this one, maybe we should keep discussing this in off-topic chat.
