they finally have all the damaged sheet metal cut away

remember, they wouldnt total it,

Looks like they did a nice clean job pulling out the bent metal. It'll be fine. Back in the day I used to detail and take care of cars for a few families. One of the cars I cared for was and SL600 convertible. One day the car was rear-ended at a stop light by a drunk in a pickup doing about 60. The car sustained almost $60k in damage (early 90's dollars!) and was not totalled. Pretty much the entire car a-pillars back was reworked. It took about two months to complete, but was literally as-new when done.
