Passenger Rear Quarter Window

Has anyone ever noticed a very small paint defect/indentation on their passenger rear quarter window frame? (see pic below...look in the area where the arrow is pointing...edge of window frame lip) I noticed it the other day when I was detailing the car. You won't find it on the driver's rear quarter window frame...I checked about six Mustangs in the parking lot the other day and noticed that each of them had the same mark/defect... some had larger indentations than others...I wonder what it is? Any ideas?

has anyone noticed how uneven the surface of the quarter glass is? Stand off at a sharp angle and look at it. Instead of a mostly flat surface, i think it looks kinda like a shrinky dink.

Neil, I've definitely noticed that...BTW, did you have that very small indentation I described in the area pointed out?

TUNGSTALLION, like I said...the other 6 Stangs I checked out, were all on the passenger side...but obviously it could be on either side now that you've found it there.

Just checked mine... perfect on both sides. Maybe issue was caught before my build date (end of 2006 season).

2006 GT Premium Coupe. Build date: 5/3/2006

Weird, I was going to say, maybe it is a drain channel for water.

Aaron, it is definitely weird...I thought maybe it's where the quarter panel is being held while it's being painted at the factory...but then I don't see it on the other (driver's) side...

Isn't there a seam for the quarter there? It may just be somewhat shoddy seam sealing. Maybe the guy that does the passenger's side isn't as consciencious as the guy that does the driver's side.

Rob, I don't believe there's a seam there...I would have to check SilverhorseRacing's instructions on removing the quarter window for installing their flushed louvers (there are pictures posted on their site of the window frame without the window)...
