Probably too good (and a mistake) as the link is dead. Bummer. If it was CHEAP, I would have bought it just for the heck of it.

Good find Robert! I think we found out who bought the palate of 81 Saleen PJ/Heritage Front bumpers from the Saleen auction a few weeks ago. Only problem I see, this doesn't come with the rest of the supplies needed. Namely the lower mesh grill and the black chin spoiler that attaches to the bottom. May, for $250 shipped, its a steal!!! And I got a GT/CS bumper at home yet. Maybe I should have waited.

I saw that a few days ago on eBay and decided to call BOI, your right on a few things...

1. They did buy the ones from the auction
2. They don't come with the mesh and mounting hardware, it's basically just the urethane bumper cover

I sell the complete conversion kits that Saleen offers, I called my contact and they told me that the covers that were available at the auction all had some sort of molding defect in them. Saleen and other distributors (like myself) still have full access to the kits so the parts are certainly still available.

I suppose if you could do body work and fix whatever the defects are, it would be a good buy but without the grilles it just doesn't look right.

How much would the grille, chin spoiler and mounting hardware cost?

Good question, I know when I order my kits that its one part number, designed as the kit. Also, the chin spoiler isn't available to the general public. The PJ's and the S302 Extremes use one chin spoiler and then the Heritage Series ( S302 and S302 Supercharged ) use a smaller chin spoiler, of the same design. It's about a 1/2 inch shorter, these are the chin spoilers that comes with the kits:

There were about 6 or 7 fascias that were offered at the Saleen auction, they were being sold there not because they don't use them, they do, Saleen has 4 cars they are using that fascia on right now.

But when you make 1,000 of them, 6 or 7 are bound to be not 100%, those are the ones they got rid of, for dirt cheap too. The bad thing is, they didn't sell any of the hardware or grills to go with it....

You can still get the fascia (and the whole kits) from Saleen or other Saleen distributors, heck, I sell the PJ fascia, exhaust, and full body kits like they're goin out of style!

steve-o:

Are you saying the PJ/Heritage fascia kit is not being made anymore? Is there a limited supply at this point? Want to get that kit, but not quite yet...

Nope, they're makin' em!

Although I will note one thing....

During the plant closings Saleen sold all of their molds for the 1979-2004 fiberglass and urethane parts. ie. bumpers, side skirts, scoops, etc. Rumor mill has it that they will be doing the same thing shortly with the 05-09 molds once the '10 hits the streets, so we shall see how MUCH longer.

They are $48 from Saleen for the fronts and $50 for the rears, only problem is.... you need a PJ vin and can only get them direct from Saleen.

I was wondering (on a different thread) a while back if the GT500 lower grille would fit the PJ fascia, cause they look very similar in shape. The GT500 grille is the plastic large mesh like the main GT500 and GT grille, and the PJ grille is a wire mesh. Don't know if it would, though.

Can get it at Moss for $210.
