Should have some of the finished product tomorrow. Really happy with the progress. The painter really cares about his work and was great about letting me watcha and take pictures.

Looks great!! Can't wait to see it finished.
I know how it is. I got my car on Sept 21 (last year) and it went to the paint shop on Oct 7. The paint shop had mine for a little over 2 weeks. It does make a difference to have a conscientious painter that actually likes what they are working on. I have pictures of mine in the paint booth too.

When the car is painted at the factory it is baked at about 250-300 degrees to harden the paint. While your local shop may "bake" the paint to dry it quicker they can't run the temp up like the factory does because it would do nasty things to any plastics in the car.
They don't want you to wax the car because it will prevent the escape of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) as the paint fully hardens.

They are putting the car back together. Still have to paint the mirrors and louvers but I get it back tomorrow.

Looks like he did not remove the front and rear windshield when he was painting your car. Adrenalin had his removed for the reasons listed below.
Make sure to mention that to your bodyshop. Just thought I should mention it since am planning on painting mine once I get my Shelby GT500 parts from KC.

I wouldn't say the price is too high. It depends on what is being done. If he is sanding the entire surface to be painted, painting the stripes, wet sanding the edges, clearcoating the panels, wet sand edges and then clear 2-3 more times, then $2500.00 is worth it. If he is just painting them ontop and clearing the stripes, no, $2500.00 is way too much. The quote for my car was over $3500.00 and that included removing the windshield and rear window to make sure the entire area was cleared properly and not just tucked under the weatherstriping where the clear can crack.

Removing the windshield seems like complete overkill to me. He did not remove them, nor would I want him to. The clear has to end somewhere and I am very happy with the job he did.

Very nice looking. I'm trying to decide when to get mine done, as I really want the beast striped. I should probably do it soon since I still have another car to drive, assuming my pocketbook recovers from last weeks down payment check.
