What color? I went with black rattlecan paint on my rocker panels and had a friend to paint my mirrors body color.

I have painted my rocker panels, but not the mirrors. However, I can tell you that since I had them painted with Hot Rod Black (Sema HR-010), a Matte/Satin black, the paint has held up very well. I also had the GT/CS rear bumper lower bit painted the same color, as well as the bottom lip of the GT front bumper, and the paint has done very well, no nicks so far.

The rear bumper is textured on the sides, and they flattened it out by heavy painting. It came out perfectly flat, and hasn't lifted or anything.

So... with that knowledge, you can, I believe, safely paint your mirrors if you desire, and even have the texture 'removed', and it will stick... if done correctly.
