Can't Decide on Spoiler option.

I'm thinking very seriously of putting Awesome's pedestal spoiler in for paint using the HR010 Hot Rod Black satin finish paint. Info for ya:

http://www.e-bodyshopsupplies.com/se...dblackkit.aspx

Currently she has the side skirts, bottom of the GT/CS bumper and the bottom lip of the GT front bumper done in this color, so it wouldn't be terribly out of place, I think.

I am not really trying for a Mach or something in looks, the rear won't get painted or paneled, but I can't seem to find a spoiler I like better. The GT500 is too tall, IMO, and the V6 one is too 'long', front to back. I'm not into the ducktail. I'd really like a shorter GT500, but that's not gonna happen, methinks.

So I've decided it's this paint... or leave it white.

I'd really appreciate y'alls input, so I put a poll up there... My first one. Be gentile.

/Thanks in advance!

I have an 2012 performance white v6 on order,i want to install a GT spoiler on it painted flat black along with black spear stripes on the hood.it will come with the black side lower mustang stripe but was thinking of having the side scoops and rear window louvres painted black also. or maybe leave them white ?

Go with the "Rat Rod Black" is made by Eastwing or East something or other. Maybe someone else can chime in on the manufacturer?

Pics, as requested, are below.

I'm sorry you feel that way, Steve. I think it's a great trim color, myself. Not flat, not shiny, just... well, perfect. But hey, that's why we're all unique.

I saw the 302R thread with those pics... and yes, I think I will paint a spoiler. I may get another somewhere when I'm ready and paint it, so I can have both. Mood spoilers.

Pics (artsy, and also huge. You've been warned. ):

Eastwood...and I did the Roush spoiler on my 'stang with their Rat Rod Black. Has held up GREAT for 3-4 seasons. Still looks as good at the day it went on.

I picked "It'd be sweet" only because it'd be "Awesome" wasn't a choice.

While you've got it in for paint, have them mask and paint a blackout panel on your trunk lid and remove and refinish your GT emblems.

That would be "Awesome"

Yeah I agree - some gloss can be too gloss (unless its an all black car) and flat is too flat where it looks like a primer job (like Sean Penn's on that other thread).

I've thought about the panel treatment, but... well, I think I like it white. I'll think about it a little more...

I'm curious... you mean to black out the GT emblems instead of the chrome? Interesting... personally, I'd just like them off, myself, but I would have to deal with the stupid holes.

Simply paint them black when the car's at the shop. Actually, I'd buy a new set and have the new set repainted since it'd be easier to reapply the adhesive. But your car being white would really look cool all black and white... the chrome GT logo's really don't go too well w/ white IMO.

I know it wasn't an option in the poll, but I'm going to put it out there anyway. Ditch it altogether. I like'm nekkid.

I thought of that too, but... it needs something, imo I don't think they look as good as the old 65-69s do. The shape of the top lip leaves something... well, missing.

And the holes are not insignificant to deal with, so unless someone donates a pristine wingless '05-'09 trunk in HP without the Sirius hockey puck... not gonna do nekkid rear.

But thank ya fer yer opinion! It, as are all in here, is appreciated!

I have my chin spoiler painted "hot rod black" and I think it's perfect and goes well with the black plastic trim pieces that are on the cars. JMO~
