painted mirrors and sail panels
Just got my sail panels and mirrors painted to match and I also painted the chin of front fascia black. I had a CDC spoiler on my '06 but I dragged it a few times and I was courious what it would look like if painted the factory piece.

Ford names the triangle part behind the mirror the "sail panel." That's also what Ford names for the triangle plastic piece on the inside of the door as well. It harkens back to the 60's when most cars has vent windows, also know as sail panels cos they catch the wind.

Correct mtchstng. I used to call them quarter-window scoops but Chip Foose refers to them as Shelby sail panels and I figgured he knows far more than I do. I was thinking about getting some quarter fender scoops but I don't want to go overboard on the scoopage. I will probably save some $$$$ over the winter and go the shaker hood/black rear spoiler route instead.

2006Stang,
The painted mirrors look good.I was considering that myself until I installed my C-stripes,now I'm gonna leave them black as I'm doing a red/black scheme.
Also, I might have a deal for you on a Shaker scoop system.Haven't decided if I want to cut my hood or not yet.
