Thanks to Tucsondivots for the idea (he did it first) and to Hireman for his excellent paint job. It matches the car perfectly.

Great idea. I think that looks awesome, much better than the polished aluminum. Now I have ANOTHER thing to add to my list!

Not to be funny, but doesn't painting defeat the bullit look? I just got my door and I definetly wanted the brushed aluminum to stand out.
Not knocking it, but I just never ever saw one painted....
To each his own.

Personally I prefer them painted. The aluminum look just makes it look like a mitsubishi. However, as you said, to each his own.

Ditto, on silver the aluminum would look alright but if I had a black car I definitely don't want it to stick out that much.

The bolts are unpainted so add some contrast. Looks good Garyb900! I get a lot of positive comments on the door with the Hireman paint job.

Thanks, it was your post that made me want one too!
I like the painted style better than the polished look.
I think the door is cool looking but I did not want it to stand out and look like a eurotuner.

Where did you get the door, how much and is it easy to install?

I got if from Bruno, his email is blacklightning@videotron.ca
It was $115 from him. Have him sand it to 400 grit and send it unassembled directly to Hireman for painting.
I paid Hireman separately.
The install was pretty easy. Just make sure you have a short 3/8" box end wrench to tighten the nuts down with. There are three studs on the inside that you have to put washers and nuts on. It helps to have small hands since you have to reach inside the door to do this.

Don't take this wrong, but why send it to Hireman for painting? He does OUTSTANDING custom work, but this is a regular paint job, isn't it? Am I missing something here?

It was easier and cheaper for me to do that then to have a local shop paint it for me.
I know he is great at custom work but it matches the factory paint perfectly.

Why spend $ on an aftermarket fuel door, spend more $ to have it painted body color and then put it on your car. I don't get it? Why not leave your fuel door stock? Looks darn near the same.

I know it's not my car, and to each his own, but I have to say this seems like money mis-spent in my book.
