For those who have painted stripes or just know about painting cars, is it necessary to re-clear an entire panel after the stripes are painted if pin striping will be done after. Or can only the area being painted cleared and then pin striped after like before? Is there any physical or visual difference in results?

You would want to have the entire panel re-cleared. Its possible to blend in the clear but most of the time clearing the entire panel is the way to go. If your going to have pinstriping done , have it done before the clear that way its under the clear also.

you could "hard line" it, but that looks horrible. the only way to go is to lay out the stripes, then clear the entire panel. dont forget to wet sand and buff it to remove the small lines on the edges of the stripes!!
