Paint Job ???'s
Paint Job ???'s
I am located up in the Tacoma, WA area. I was wanting to repaint my car. I was wondering if anyone knew about how much it would cost. My car was keyed about a week after i bought it, all the way down the driver side threw to the primer...stupid people....But i am wanting to go Performance White on it. I think it will look alot better with my glass roof, and the 20" chrome razors on it. Does anyone in that area know anyone...or have an estimate on about how much this will cost?
well, i have a new hood, and bumper to put on, so that will be easier, my dad is a painter in the tx area, and he said about 3k or 3500 should cover it, and thats about how much im willing to pay. the reason i wanna paint it, is cause the chrome 20" razors dont look right i don't think honestly, i wish i woul dhave gotten like gunmetal, or brushed alluminum, instead of chrome
lol
funny you should say that with the white.....and thats the bumper im going to buy for it, if this supercharger deal im trying to buy doesn't go through, im going to buy the cervini conceptII hood to really set it off
I personally don't think chrome wheels look good on most light colors. If your going to repaint it why not go with a more custom color? Or fix the scratch and swap the wheels for gunmetal, resale the chromes to offset and save money for other mods.
If you can get a quality color change paint job (including jams, underhood etc) for $3500 jump on it. However I think when you actually call around you'll find that figure nearly doubles.
I've had paint work done on a few different cars including a total paint (jams, underhood/trunk etc) on a 1969 Firebird. That paint job was slightly over 7000 dollars and is nowhere near what you would consider a "show" quality job.
In all honesty you're probably looking at a minimum of $5000.00 to have it done right and not look like Maaco did it for $400.00. It will be cheaper to have the repair done and purchase different wheels that you like better.

Shop around for a quality painter and plan to be without your car for a few months at a minimum. In the end, you'll be one happy 'stanger.. Although I think that the color you have now looks good too..
