Opinions - Xenon rear spoiler
Hey everyone - now that the site is back up, just wanted to see some opinions on Xenon's rear spolier for the '05..... it bolts right on to the stock spoiler holes according to the owner of Crossroadz direct.
This is the one I've seen so far that appeals to me the most....

Not bad, looks better than the CDC ductail. Probably the wrong section for this though, should be in exterior mods.

I like it even better if it fits in the holes for the orignal spoiler!
Thanks to the mods for the MOVE on this topic - so happy to be back, I just started posting like a nut without thinking where!
Yeah, glad to see the initial reaction so far - I DO like spoliers on the new Stang but had not really seen anything I liked better than the stock one - some ducktails seemed to be in the right direction but the CDC one just didn't seem to 'fit right' with the car - more of a quick stick on....
I'd love another angle of this one but like I said, the owner of Crossroadz direct said it uses the stock holes, which was an important factor for me....
Wow - I may have just found my first body mod!

I get how the center portion uses the existing holes, but how do the pair of side pieces mount up? Looks good to me but I'm not sure how you get the side pieces on w/o adding more holes, unless they 3M to the body......

I just don't like the idea of leaving the car for a number of hours with a piece that is simply taped on....What a b#$%^ it would be to come out and find the center portion sitting there with both side pieces ripped off, or have them fly off at 120mph! Kind of a scary proposition....Full bolt on products that also use the factory holes would be my first choice.....Not sure if the ducktail leaves owners any other option though..
I have the same fear with the stick on quarter window covers...I figure someone will just rip them off and i'm out 180 bucks....

I was thinking the same thing John - I do NOT like the whole tape thing and was wondering if the seam lines on this spoiler are acutal seams or just fakes to match up with the trunk ones below (IE - the entire spoiler lifts up when the trunk opens)
Was comparing this to the Westrendz one and that one has the same issue - all we'd need is a pic with the actual trunk OPEN to see - I sure don't wanna be drilling new holes in my car.... did anyone get s a CLOSE look at the Performance West car at SEMA? This spoiler was on there....
Edit as of 12:49 EST - replied to Matt at Crossroadzdirect asking is he could confirm the configuration of this spolier - info when I get it....

Yes the Xenon peice in between the taillight sticks on with tape. so do most of the louvers. the ducktail bolts on with the middle piece but it does say you will need to drill other holes to mount the ducktail, but the edge pieces will probably stick on. you can however drill a hole into the side piece, thread it, use fiberglass glue to secure a bolt into it, and mount it with the tape and the bolt. then noone could rip it off. :tex:
