Opinions needed here:

Will 275/50R-17 110V Nitto NT Extreme performance tires fit on the factory rims (upgraded ones)? Will they look good? Does anyone know if Nitto's are a good tire??

THANKS!!!!

I bought Nitto's after Tony (SixtySix) recommended them, they are awsome! Mine are 255/50/17's

Thanks for the pic! With the 255's, it looks like they fit the rim perfectly. I wonder if the 275's would need a spacer or something? Anyone know??

The 255's are the way to go with the stock wheels IMO. If you want 275's, just get some 17x9 or 18x9 wheels.

thanks Ian. Now what would be a concern with using 275's....rim not big enough? Spacers needed??

Well, as far as spacers, I'm not really sure. You'd have to put them on and see, or maybe someone on here or another forum has 275's on the stock wheels. There may be some rubbing on the fron tires when turning the steering wheel completely. My gut says no though. The concern I have is that every tire/wheel site I have been to recommends 255's as the widest tire to put on a 8" wheel. I've heard you can get away with 275's, but you never know. And besides that, I think the sidewalls may buldge out too much and look like truck tires. Even the 255's buldge out a little, but it looks fine. The 275's might be too much. I'm getting 255's as soon as my stock tires need changing, and that's what I recommend to you. If you really want 275's, I say get some 9" wheels.

Well I went to TireDiscount and had the Nitto 275/50R-17 tires put on. acadian, you were right.

1. They don't look good on the 17X8 rims
2. When in a full turn the tires rub
3. The tread isn't all that attractive
4. My car looked like I should be in an off-road rally race - tires too big & tread too mean looking

I had them order me Nitto 255/45R-17 Extreme Performance NT 555's all around. IT LOOKS REALLY GOOD! The tires are just great -- best I've driven on.

Great. 255's are definitely the way to go on the stock wheels. Post some pics of your car with the 255 nittos when you get a chance.
