OklaCop, others - Can the Shelby hood go on GT?

Will the GT500 hood fit on a GT without changing the bumper, grill, lights, etc... or will there be a gap in the middle... anyone know?

I'm thinking the Shelby hood vents are functional... and I've got the WMS CAI .

Although... Still not as cool as that fox2 you've got now. You gonna be anywhere near Tampa Labor Day weekend or the week after?

Ok I think there was some confusion about this thread. 05GT, I think you wanted to know if the Shelby GT 500 hood (with heat extractor vents) will fit on your stock GT. I'm assuming you are keeping your stock grill, bumper, headlights, etc....... The hood will work as far as using the existing hardware, however there are two things to think about here. One, there will be a gap just above your upper grill. The Shelby grill is taller in the middle and fills this gap caused by the new hood, Two, we have all discussed the lines in the stock GT hood not matching up with the angled verticle posts on the GT 500 front bumper (which is why I went ahead and went with the GT 500 hood). You would have this problem in reverse. Your hood lines would be well inside the verticle posts of the stock GT bumper. The hood lines aren't a huge deal. As 2L8IWON stated, I had my stock hood on the car with the GT 500 bumper and it didn't look too bad. I would be more concerned about the gap then the hood lines matching up. Hope this helped.

I agree with OKLACOP, the hood fits but the lines are a LITTLE screwy. My Steeda hood looks hot with my GT500 bumper, but if one looks head on, the lines of the hood (where the hood would have meet with the stock upright bumper posts) are a little off because the shelby up right bumper posts are slanted. Either way it looks great! and differant!!! I'm sure I am not explaining this very well because I just woke up from an all nighter, but I will try to take some pics.

Hey check out this thread. The guy just did the conversion and has his GT hood http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...523#post728523
