OK Now I'm Happy

After much fussing and a couple of ruined trunk emblems, I finally got the look I wanted. It's a stock GT emblem. I sprayed the chrome-look ring with flat lacquer and the black GT center part with semi-gloss lacquer. After spraying the edges of the tail lights with semi-matte black, I also sprayed the edges of the SHR deck cover and the round center portion edge. Those edges were a little too shiny for me. The emblem has the same semi-shiny look as the Snake emblem. Much nicer in my opinion.

Thanks

I have to be careful that I don't get crazy about this matte finish thing, but I might try spraying the A/C vent chrome rings.

I'm also happy that I finally figured out how to get photos back in my album, and post them. My old photos must have gotten lost in the crash.

I'm going to spray the A/C vents in flat black...

Thanks guys

It was pretty easy to do. I used Model Master Dullcote from a spray can. I use it for my model building.

I'm going to give the treatment to the AC rings and chrome around the tach and speedo. If it comes out well, I'll post some pics. If not - you'll never hear from me again

Great mod. In my opinion, it should have come from the factory that way. I've never been much into the chrome look.

I have been thinking about doing this to my rear emblem. It is just to chrome for me. what did you use to paint it? I dont know what a flat lacquer looks like, would you mine telling me the exact brand if it was an aresol can

Joseph, now throw up those pics of the AC rings to show us how they came out. I'm interested!
