New Wheels...

Got these wheels for Christmas and ready to put tires on. It is the Staggered setup from AM.

Tried to link picture.. They are the GT4's in black from AM..

Does anyone have pics of this setup without the car lowered????

This ones looks not lowered. Can anyone confirm?

Yeah I figure that much out. So I went to the tire store the other day and gave them the size I wanted and they poopooed them. The AM site say 255/45/18's and 275/40/18's on their packaged staggered wheel and tire deals. The tire store said they would not do the 275/40/18 due to them not being able to handle the load capacity. So now I am stuck with a much heftier tire bill as the only 2 I can find in the size 285/40/18 they say they will do is are the Conti DW's and Nitto 555's. I was actually considering doing the Conti DWS's(no 285/40/18) in an all season. So it looks like I will be going with the DW's. Anyone with a NOT lowered pic of their car running the 255-285 staggered combination above?

Yes, I have been through the Wheels thread. Just would like to see a confirmed not lowere pic with this combination..

did you order the tires of have them installed. If you ordered them cancel the order. Then order the tires you want through discounttiredirect.com or thetirerack.com and have them installed at some place other than discount tire.

No didn't order them. I am struggling balancing look and performance and whether or not I will be happy with the stance. Don't care for the 4x4 look of the picture above which I posted above and trying not to lower the car as although it is not a daily driver per say I don't want to be dragging my cats across speed bumps and the few driveway transitions I fairly regularly cross. At stock height I already have numerous places that I indeed scrape. I know them so I go slow to prevent damage.. So that is why I am looking for pictures... if I can find some that are either setup and see how they look I will know ahead of time what I may or may not have to do.

D'prived has what I believe(yes everyone's tastes are different) is the perfect stance in the Show Us Your Wheels sticky. I had not seen this picture before posting.....

Unfortunately his signature says nothing regarding lowering...

I suspect it is lowered. If not however the exact same setup is what Discount Tire is recommending, sans tire choice.

So I am willing to go that route in a heartbeat if it is not lowered. If it is lowered does anyone have this same setup not lowered and have a pic they can post or point me to in a thread...

Also I am not claiming DT is screwing me or anything it is just that I was looking at the DWS rather than the DW's and when they told me about this load range issue I was a bit WTH... Why would AM have it as what they sell if it was bad....

Here's some shots of mine. My car is not lowered and I have the Nitto 555 in 255/45-18 in front and 285/40-18 in the rear. They're the same sizes the '07-'09 GT500's run stock. And they're the same height as the stock 235/55-17 my car came with so no need to recalibrate the speedo. Been driving with this set-up for six years and had ZERO issues whatsoever.

THANK YOU!!!!

Easy decision now! It will be just right. I know exactly what it will look like now, and even better it is a SCY example.
