New Mods pics

I just installed a CDC shaker intake, and put on Mach 1 style hood stripes from graphicsexpress.com. I think they look awesome personally and really add definition to the hood. Now all I need to do is get a matte black spoiler to finish it. Also, ordered 18" Magnum 500's to go on it which should get here by the middle of next week. Will get new pictures after I install them.

I like it. You do hear a bit of intake sound but it doesn't drastically change the sound of the car. The installation was easy. I don't have a dyno comparison but the old butt-o-meter thinks it helped a bit. Don't expect huge gains from any intake without a tune. I do recall seeing one of the Saturday morning automotive shows where they tested the K&N intake with the Flowmaster axle-back on a 2005 GT and gained a total of about 20 horsepower. If I remember right it was about 16 for the intake and 5 for the mufflers.

You might consider a pair of cobra jet chrome emblems on your shaker, I put them on mine in 05 and you should really look at a lover kit from MTR.

A very nice looking ride. I noticed a difference in exhaust sound and maybe a slight increase in performance as the speed increases forcing more air at a faster rate through the throttle body.

I've had my kit on for 3 years now. It makes your mustange one of a kind.

Nicely done.

Just my thoughts ........

Wow, our cars will look a lot alike when I get mine....I have all of the same parts in my basement now!...I'm just waiting to get my order in. The Cobra jet emblems on the side would look good...but I ordered a pair of 281 emblems for the side of my shaker.

Here is where I ordered mine: http://www.autobadges.com/emblems/ it is about 3/4 down the page (block emblem)

Car looks good man!

BTW..get the louvers from Amazon..the astra hammond...I just got mine in...they look amazing!

If you put the rear window louvers on (birthday present from your wife), you will have a 08' GT/CS Mach 1. I know all the tricks. There is talk of a new Mach 1 coming out, and I bet they use the CS facia's for that project just like Shelby does. You know, same car rebadged with a few different things here and there. Like a shaker hood, louvers, honeycomb panel, magmun 500, and black spoiler. You are a step ahead of them. I would like to see some cool side moldings ala 1970 Mach 1 some day for the 05-08's.

Nice job with the mods, my daughter has an 06 V6 redfire with Roush rear louvers (look excellent) I should put a shaker on hers. You have a great set of wheels that will draw a lot of smiles and nods.

I like the tinted glass with the redfire, adds to the overall muscle car look.

Thanks for all the kind comments! We're discussing the rear window louvers, just not sure since we had those on an old Mercury Capri and there were a few things we recall as being bothersome. That and my wife likes the lines of the car without it. I'm kind of hoping Ford does a Boss version rather than another Mach 1. I like the looks of the Cobra Jet emblems on the scoop but I think if we add anything it'll probably be the 281 emblem. Hadn't really thought much about that. And yes, the window tint goes great with the Redfire, that was the first thing we added as soon as we got the car.

That's funny, I had a 1979 Mercury Capri RS also. Bought it from my father in law, and it had rear louvers too. They faded, and peeled black paint over time, plus rattled at highway speeds. These new Roush louvers have come a long way since the old styles. I am very pleased. But, they might not be for you. Just my opinion, as it should be.

Happy New Year to all Mustang Lovers!!

Looks great shaker! What % of tint is that. I would like to get tint done but I don't want to go too dark.

I can not wait to see it. I bet not many would change the look of the GT/CS that much. It is going to be one good looking car. I have to hand it to you. Like I said, my bet is the new Mach 1 that is rumored about, will look just like yours. What are you going to do with the old rims?

We're planning on hanging onto the stock wheels. Seeing as how the CS is a special edition and there's an, admittedly small, chance it may become collectible down the road, I'm keeping all the stock parts just in case. At this point, everything we've done is readily reversible with the exception of the hood.

It looks faster and meaner. I like it. I would say 125 H.P faster looking. Get those rear window louvers for you birthday now, they add another 25 H.P in looks.
