They also have a chrome 17x9 '95 Cobra R style for the '05 (+45mm offset) I didn't know about. $200 shipped.

http://www.wheelreplicas.com/ hasn't updated their own site yet, but my 18x9 FR500's were $166 each shipped.

How does the +36mm offset look? I thought you were supposed to use the stock offset. (+45mm)

That's what I would have preffered, but after searching for months for a black wheel I liked and not finding anything, I decided to settle for the +36mm It's only 9mm off so I guess I can't complain.

I'll always be curious why they chose not to go all the way to +45mm since they were making a new wheel anyway. Seems pretty stupid to me. Looks like all they did was shave an extra 12mm (1/2") off the mounting surface.

Due to the fact that they are 9" wheels instead of 8", the +36mm offset is correct. The +45mm offset is for an 8" rim.

Ahh. I didn't think about "inside" clearance. Thanks.

I called MRT the other day. they have the 10.5 on their site also but it is a missprint. the only wheels for the 05 from MRT are the ones with an HD next to them but he said they are working on the 10's s/b another month or so.

So what would be the desireable offset for a 9.5" or 11" wheel?

That doesn't make sense. The greater the diameter of the rim, the more positive the offset will have to be for the outer lip to sit in the same place relative to the wheel well. Since the offset is mm from the centerline, that will stay constant if the wheel is wider. A wider wheel will only make the rim project further beyond the offset if the offset does not change, thus making it stick further out of the wheel well. Basically all of the extra width should go to the inside of the well if you want the look to stay exactly the same. Obviously you would have to check clearance and such. On a 9" wheel, in order to have the outside of the rim in same position as with the stock 8" rims, you would need an offset of +58mm.

9" - +58mm
10" - +70mm
11" - +83mm

All of this obviously changes if you want or don't care if the new wheel protrudes more from the wheel well than the old.

The last thing you said is where the reasoning comes from. He's refering to keeping the same inside clearance. Personally, I would have prefered the +45mm offset and I think there's enough room for it when going to a 9" rim.

The wheel sticks out a 1/2" more than stock just by going up in size. Then add to it they used the wrong (+36mm) offset and you have almost another 1/2". That's too much, IMO.

But like I said before, it was these or nothing. Overall I'm happy with the setup.

Yeah. I kind of figured that's what it was. I just wanted to "report" what all the sites had listed. Oh well. I'm sure there are a few disapointed out there now. It's hard to find a 10.5" wheel.

One thing I forgot to mention. If you get the FR500's you have to remove the dust caps from the front hubs to be able to put on the center caps.
