I'm posting this here to get some attention.

Friday night at about 3am I decided that my right front wheel vs 6" curb would be a good challenge. Up until the curb torn part of the lip off my rim... [/sarcasm]

Anyways. My dealer qoted me $550 for one rim, one tire, and an alignment. The stock 17" Bullitt rims are backordered, and the Pirelli tires are hard to come by. So, my alternatives are falling through (tried calling KC and Casco Co.) and am looking for a solution.

Any help in this would be great.

Thank you...
Justin

I know this guy doesn't want to ship, but the deal sounds amazing for 4 wheels.

Ok, I will definitely check out ebay. Does anyone have any suggestions if I were to go the aftermarket route? I was thinking about getting different wheels somewhere down the line, but am having trouble deciding if I want to just go ahead and get 4 new wheels & tires or if I should just spend what I need to get by.

I'm just hoping there isn't more damage done to the suspension/steering.

[edit]
Ok, I checked out Ebay. That $525 sale is through that Casco guy. If i were to order the one rim + tire I found it will cost me $400+. Now, my debate becomes this: I was planning on going aftermarket eventually anyways, should I just spend the extra $ now on magnums/black bullitts/FR500s or just spend the $500 and wait til next year to buy the aftermarket set outright?

...
Does anyone have some Curb Remover I can borrow? I had a problem with 2 curbs in 1 night. (the 2nd time was my fault, 1st time I got run off the road making a left turn off the highway)

Justin,

No idea what your taste are, but check this Tread , there's a link that shows a picture of some new wheels on the market you may or may not like.

Those definitely fit my tastes. I like the free shipping part too.

I was also considering the AFS Mach 1 'MAC Black' magnum wheels (18x9, $700 incl shipping) and the FR500 replicas (18x 9, MRT $650 incl shipping) But what kind of suggestions are there for tires on 18x9 rims? 255/45/18 match the OEM tire size best. What about brand vs. price for 18" tires?

I can't speak to how they compare performance-wise with their competitors, but in terms of looks, IMO nothing beats the new tread BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWs. Have a set of 255/45/18s on my car now, and they get a lot of "ooohs" and "ahhhhs."

If you can't find a good deal on a single replacement bullit though, you may be better off spending the extra money and getting the aftermarket setup now.

Put winters on your bullitt rims as they are and buy a set of aftermarket rims if you can afford it.

Not sure if you drive it in the winter in Ohio but if you do, that's my recommendation. Put Blizzaks (Love 'em) or X-Ice on the Bullitts.

I'm sure you can find a stock bullitt rim for a decent price somewhere too.

Ok, the update officially stands as this... (pics included) Links are in parentheses after description.

1. Buy 4 take-off stock Bullitts & tires shipped for about $650 (Casco/Ebay)
2. Buy 4 255/45WR18 Kumho tires for $590 shipped (Tire Rack)
- a. 18x9" AFS Mach 1 "MAC Black" magnum wheels $700 shipped (Ebay)
- b. 18x9" FR500 Black replicas for $650 shipped (MRT)
- c. 18x9" "Deep Dish" Black Bullitts for $650 shipped (mentioned earlier in this thread- Mustang Tuning)

Kumho vs BFG KDW via Tire Rack

I really appreciate all the input I'm getting on this. Here's a couple pics of the injury.

Thanks Paul! I will definitely keep you in mind.

So far, I think I'm going to go with the Mach 1 style wheels. Those are the style I've wanted since before I got the car, so now is probably the best time to get those. I'm going to keep the bullitts for winter tires, so I might just snag the pair from you (do they still have tires mounted or not?) and keep my scuffed rim for a full-size spare.

More pics. Something doesn't look right...

Based on your pics and measurements, looks like you have a alignment issue or something. The measurements should read the same.

Oh there's definitely an alignment issue. That's why I swapped the spare to the back of the car, to make comparisons up front. Unfortunately, I can't get it accurately aligned unless I have 4 "matching" wheels on the car. When I was looking at it tonight and comparing sides, it looked as though the rearward lower control arm mount was misaligned. I'm hoping it's jsut something that can be fixed with an alignment and some suspension adjustment. I'd rather not have to find parts to put in there.

In case anyone was wondering...

Part of my solution has presented itself... Kumho 255/48/18s (got from Tire Rack for $590 incl shipping & road hazard)

Ok, here's (hopefully) the rest of my solution. Going to visit my friend at Sears tomorrow to get the tires mounted and balanced and get my car aligned. I'm praying that the alignment will fix the way my wheel is sitting.
