Pegasus, I just took a look at the stripes again in your link. What color are yours? On the site it's hard to tell which red is which.

51 Dark Red

I wanted a color that went better with my red leather interior. I have a set of brake calipers to send off the get powder coated the same color. Right now they're painted a brighter red, and I want the color to flow correctly throughout.

It'll be close, but I believe the calipers will be a little brighter red. From a distance they'll be close enough though.

I'm just ****, that's why I bought a set of calipers to get powder coated.

I'm liking the rocker stripes more and more....now on the 'what' stripes. Mustang GT, GT300 or something else maybe. The search continues......
Are they easy to install? I do NOT want to have to pay someone to put them on if I can help it.

What do you think of maybe GT300 stripes and Pony emblem(remove GT badge)....or maybe some other badge?

I'm biased so I like my pony emblem with the 281 with the GT Mustang stripe.

As far as install goes, I did them myself in my garage in about an hour. Just follow the installation instructions and you'll be good to go. I've never done stripes before and I managed just fine. I'd give it a rating of 3 out of 10 on difficulty, just because you have to get it all lined up and laid down without bubbles... again, I'm **** about it :-p

I've been looking thru pics on the web of the Gt300 stripes...not lovin them so far. Your stripes look great, but I'm curious at to what they look like in non-staged lighting. Got any 'real world' photos of your car?

I think once you see the spinners in person, you'll agree that you'll want them on your own pony.

I really like those spinners...
Are they easily removable if someone on the street decided to steal them?

I'm definitely gonna change my emblem. Spinners are a definite also. I do like the old school lookin GT rear medallion...is that an overlay?
I'm still gonna have to see the rocker stripes in a more 'real life' setting before i make up my mind.

the rear medallion is not an overlay. it is a replacement billet alluminum piece. the door hinges open downwards to get access to the keyhole. pretty slick piece.

The GT350 style stripe (narrow/wide/narrow) is the only stripe that's going to look retro on your rocker panel. All the others just look strange, IMO.

Gary,
So the 65/66 GT emblem covers up the stock GT emblem's holes?
I'd love to see some more pics with the GT emblem.

Chrome trim around the edge of the grille looks really good. I just ordered the American Muscle polished aluminum fog bezels after seeing how good they look on the s197's in this thread.

Post a pic when you have the bezels on with the chrome trim. I've thought about the trim, but was wondering if it'd end up being too much chrome up there.

Thanks,

i wish i had taken more pics of the emblem, but i didnt. it does cover the holes very easily. i dremeled off the two locating posts. in hindsight, i should have left the top one on, but i cut off the posts before i took off the stock ones. the rear part of the emblem is hollow, so i poured epoxy just a little below the brim. then i just eyeballed it and attached it with 3m tape. if you leave the top post on, it will make putting it on that much easier.

the 65 gt emblem is metal/ceramic. the 66 gt emblem is chromed plastic. i got the 65 one. i figure it will last longer. plus they are a different shade of red. i think, but i am not sure, the 66 is more of a maroon red.

i will try to take more pics later on.
