Okay so 20" isn't ghetto. Then how about 20" rims are urban couture.
And I don't want urban couture but if I did I'd get that Miata wanna-be
the Honda S2000.

I would have to see those things in person but the 19" rims seem to
be the best Max Choice. Ultimately many of us want to personalize
the blank slate Mustang and to each his/her own ultimately.

Still.....The 19" is the way to go instead of 20 if it's available.

 

IMO 20 is perfect for the 05. I have 20x8.5 with 255x35-20 tires on them. Although some people think that these tires are too skinny, It gives the kind of responsiveness that it needs

 

the offset on these wheels is 45. the next time I buy tires I'll probably get 265x35-20 (wasn't sure if they would fit at first) neither did anyone else when I got the wheels aparently. The 20 offset will stick out too much in the front and probably in the back too.

 

I think 20's fit the car well, the BFG 05 GT in the blue poster is fitted with 20's and the car look lowered a bit also.

 

First of all it isn't the size of the wheel that makes it "bling bling" it is the style, mainly lots of chrome.

Have you riddin in the 05 with 20's on it, bet my ***** you haven't so that comment is no good either.

Poor traction? how do you figure. same amount of rubber on the pavement. I am running 275's on the back and it grips quite a bit better than the stock wheels and rubber.

granted the wheel is bigger and takes a little bit of power away. but for the most part the 05 is a daily driver for most of us anyway.

As for the retro look, maybe you have a point, but after all the car is an 05 and not all of us are collecting social security yet, styles change.

Well the only thing you said right there was that 20's= rough ridge. The traction part isn't an issue since most people are putting on a higher performance tire. Yes you can't drive in the snow as well (at all with some tires). The "rubber bands" I have on my Accord are doing pretty well in the snow that has hit the MD area. As for the retro look I agree with nicksolheim that just because it looks like a 60's stang it doesn't have to be in every aspect. Your only 26 any's drizztbob so no social security for you yet!

(Actually with the way Bush is talking there really won't be an SS for you!) lol

 

I don't know. They look alright. I just really like the 17" Bullits on mine. I think they compliment the car really well. WHich is what I've always thought rims and tires should do. Compliment the car.

 

LOL...yeah I WISH I was getting SS. Anyway, to focus on the main point of my objection, is that it takes away from the classic stylings of the car. If you want to go out and lower the car, put a ground effects body kit on it, drop some chromed out spinning 20's, then go get a Honda or an Escalade. This Mustang was not meant for that.
