I like them both, my only concern is that the rebels like really wide, I will be going with the 9" rim all around instead of the offset (10" in the rear)as my car is a V6

What do you guys think ?????

Interesting that Bigwheels recommends an ET of 25 on a 9in wheel. I would have thought they would have recommended an ET of 45.

I am also getting....or was getting the rebels but looks like a lot of people are so I may need to rethink that one.

FYI - the Rebels are 18x9 with a 25mm offset and 18x10 with a 30mm offset. I have already priced them and did all the calculations and they are a perfect fit.

Is it just me or does it look like the rear wheel sticks out a bit far in that picture?

I think an ET of 45 would be better. This would compensate for the extra inch of wheel width allowing the wheel to sit deeper in the wheelwell....or am I wrong here?

do a search on the offset calculator.. it will show you the difference between the original rim and any offset you choose

The offset calculator is what I used.

An ET of 25 with a 9" wide wheel gives me a backspace of 6" (.2" smaller than the stock offset). A 9" wide wheel, with a 6" backspace, will stick out 1.2" farther than the stock wheel. I will admit that an ET of 25 gives me a backspace which is closest to the stock backspace but I dont think that is what you want when you are going with a wider wheel unless you dont mind the wheel sticking out farther than wheelwell, or if the wheelwell can handle that extra 1.2" (which I havent personally measured yet since my car is in storage ).

Someone tell me I'm not completely off in my logic here. And if the wheelwell can handle that extra 1.2" on the outside let me know because I think I remember reading somehwere the the stock wheels sit in a bit from the wheelwell.

if you went with a +45 offset and a wider width wheel ie the 18x9, then you will have 2" more on the inside side of the wheel hoop and it will not only be much more of a problem hitting the control arms and inner fenderwell but will also cause more stress on the wheel studs and you might shear the studs off the hub.

you change the offset to +25 to bring the inside side of the wheel hoop back in line with where the stock wheel hop was in relationship to the rest of the front suspension geometry. this also keeps the center line of the wheel hub closer to the original mounting face of the stock rim.

That way your "lock to lock" does not get affected and you dont get that annoying "bump steer" when the inside of the tire hits the inner fenderwell when you turn and go over a bump/ dip/ etc.

If you go with the +45 Offset like stock then a 9" wide wheel will stick out an additional 1/2" and stick in an additional 1/2", not 2".

Whoops my bad, you are correct but I was also thinking about in my case the stock 16" V6 wheel, so in my case I guess it would (if it was an 18x9 with +45) 1" more of back space and 1" more of outside lip over the stock wheel and tire combo

You may want to search for rims by vehicle. The big Wheel website doesn't have anything under 20" for the 05...and some businesses aren't too keen on returns/refunds....just lookin out for ya!

On that thread someone mentioned they were $600 each , that's usd .. That's for the 19 inch rim, if you are going 18 inch which I am because I want bigger tires, I am sure it's less than that .. I think they are worth it, I love the burnt black aluminum look on a rim.. Looks fantastic.
