Well we washed it yesterday, didn't have time to do that again unfortunately or we'd get crappy pictures again (gets dark early) So anyway, there's dirt on the car, excuse it.

This is the rear tire

Edit: I bought the 18x9 & 18x10 Deep dish chrome bullits from Mustangtuning.com

They didn't send me my spacers though, I fortunately had some from my BF.

We ended up going with the nitto nt555

255/45/18 in the front for the 18x9's and
295/45/18 in the rear for the 18x10's

I'm very happy with them.

Looks good! I don't think it's too much bling-age! Looks like a classic muscle car to me!

ARRGH! YOUR KILLING ME WITH THIS GREAT LOOKING CAR! I AM convinced and will put in an order to Mustang tuning. I am really liking those 295's in the back. Do you plan to lower this beauty? The only thing I worry about with 295's is a kit lowering too much. I guess right now you don't have any rubbing on the fronts.

Now way is this too much bling. Have to agree.......this is classic muscle car looks.
Way to go!

There is tons of room left in the rear, trust me! I'm not lowering my car any time soon, but if I was going to, I don't see that there would be any clearance issues. Just look at the first pic - there's tons of room in that rear well

I prefer Anthracites, but that is definitely not bling. Looks good.

First off, your car looks great.

Second, once the car is lowered there is not that much room between your tire and the fender. I have 285's in the back with a 1.4" drop. Just look at your pics again. You tire already sits flush with the outside of the fender. If you lower your car, there is a very good chance your tire will rub on the inside of the wheelwell if you hit a nasty bump. Not saying it will, but there is a good chance it would happen.

I can fit my whole hand under the well and there's still room so that my hand isn't touching the well or the tire. I don't see any clearance issues, but I'm also not planning on lowering this car any time soon, so I can't give a definitive answer. I know that I've seen lowered cars that have 20's that have 2 fingers of space and have no issues with rubbing.

I've never been big on chrome, but I think with Vista Blue, it's the only way to go. Anthracite just washes out the color of the car, and makes it look very "blah"

I guess I was not clear enough. Look at this pic of yours.

Clearance is not just a matter of being able to fit your hand between the tire and the wheelwell, it is a matter of clearing the sides of the tire. Look at how the tire lines up with the wheelwell. Now when you hit a bump obviously the tire moves up towards the wheel well, and in normal instances, the tire fits inside the well. In this case, it is even with the wheel well. So if you lower the car, it might hit. Same goes true for the back part of the tire. They have to clear the shocks and other components back there. There are a lot of things to take into consideration when it comes to clearance.

I really like your setup Ileana- nice job!

While I'm drumming my fingers waiting for my Roush lowering springs to arrive I decided that these tire mfrs need to start making raised white letter tires in these 35 and 40 and 45 profile tires that we all use these days! <wouldn't that just look sweet?>

I'm still wondering though if after lowering the tire sizes that Ileana used on hers would still fit. I think those rear springs might lower as much as 1.75" -! I looked on the Roush site but couldn't find that info.

Again, it is not necessarily the tires that are the problem. It would be the backspacing (offset) of the rim. I can put 295's on mine with no problems, but mine do not stick out as far as Ileana's due to the backspacing. I sure do like the profile on those tires.

Hey, fellow Vista-ite.

Your car looks great! Just the right amount of "bling". The tint looks just like mine, and after I make my mind up about chrome wheels, we may end up having twin ponies.

(of course, mine is a wimpy little V6)

Its looks fantastic! Just needs the perfect touch to bring all the chrome together, get the chrome tail light surrounds(the rounded profile ones from mustangtunning) and the honeycomb tail panel and viola!

Oh, and blue mirror caps

I'm not big on chrome. Think the wheels will be it. I'm looking for the black tail light bezels, and I don't like honeycomb But I do want to blackout that part of the car.

So many things to do

Ileana: Park your car on a slope (left to right not front to back) and notice the clearence difference with only the weight of the car. Then imagine driving on a curve sloped like that and hitting a pothole. The tire may indeed rub.

Also, with appolgies to those who have lowered their cars, Ford had many engineers with years of experience who have considered the dynamics and trade-offs associated with the spring stiffness and ride and handling dynamics. Your car looks great like it is. Lowered it might look better, but you'd risk a harsher ride and pounding the tires into the fender.

Like I said though guys - I'm not planning on lowering my car any time soon. So I'm hardly paying extreme attention to what's going on with the spacing. I'm just saying what I've noticed. The bulge on the sides seemed like it would allow a bit (by that I mean nothing more than an inch) of a drop while still keeping the tire within the well.

I didn't scrutinize it because it's not a concern

Ileana, is your car lowered in the back at all? The gap looks much smaller to me than the stock gap, you dont have your mods in your sig, just wondering if maybe you cut your rear springs .
