My latest one of a kind mod

I have been wanting to do something else retro with my car and I figured the rear faux gas cap would be an inexpensive great way to do so.
Here is what I was going after...

Here is was what I made

I started out with the SHR basic brushed aluminum faux gas cap and then added the 1968-69 Mustang GT wheel center cap emblem which was red, but I painted it black to better match my theme. I love the awesome one of a kind look it added to my car
Once again, I'd like to thank SHR for yet another quality piece

That's awsome Dawg, but hey.....smaller pictures please. Slower computers will take 20 mins to load those.

Nice shots - Need some nice shots al around of the car without anything obstructing the background = good shots for magazine ads

Looking god by the way, exactly why we started making the "basic" door, so everyone could adapt it as they best saw fit.

Looks good.

I would like to recommend to resize your photos from their native resolution to something more like 800x600 before you post. My laptop resolution is 1600x1200 and those pictures are still difficult to view.

kooldawg, looks good! just gotta cover up the red paint a bit more.

when the plain rear medallions came out a little over a year ago, i did that too. i bought the small and large gt emblem, but eventually decided to go with the smaller one.

edit: pegasusphototx, you beat me to it! lol. btw, the guy who gave you the idea must be a genius, huh? lol.

man those pics are way too big Guess you already see that you are not the first one to do that mod. Don't you hate when that happens. Still love the look though

I admit, I got a LITTLE carried away on the pic size! Sorry
As far as NOT being the only one, it's no big deal and great to see I'm not the only one craving more of the '60s feel for our S197
As far as the red showing, I know and will try and get that taken care of. The red is overspray from the company, but I'm not about to send it back!

I know and agree 1000%! I'm waiting to have the flush mounts installed before I get "serious" on the pic taking
P.S. Did I mention how much of a PITA it was removing your honeycomb tail panel??????? That says a lot on the quality of the adhesive

Oh yeah, 30 seconds to install, 1.5 hours to remove and clean-up for reinstall... Been there, have the T-shirt

Still looks good though, and yeah, once the louvers are in, definitely get us some pictures - and we can take the big file, it's easier to resize from big to small than the other way around
