OK nothing to do before the SuperBowl so I decided to just take them all the way off. Those 4 year old stripes came off pretty easy with a hair dryer but they left behind a lot of residue. I worked on this side for over an hour and a half and decided to get the other side next week. I still don't have it all the residue off the first side. I guess sometimes less is more.

Looks kind of naked. I wouldn't know it was your car Rich if you didn't say so.

So is it gonna run around naked for a while. See what's what.

Be happy with what you have & not try to make it some fake snake.

If I decide to put the stripes back on I think I'll go with a more current stripe like the one pictured below only it would say GT350 of course. I kind of like the fact that it has 2 stripes instead of the 3 that I had on my old ones.

Use Meguiar's Cleaner Wax and some light heat (hairdryer) on the stripe residue. It will come off ASAP.

Goo Gone works pretty good too, but then it will need a good coat of wax.

its your car- If you like it, do it...

personally, I think some folks may like your car more than a shelby (I do) - its your car/you modified it to suit your tastes, and it looks great. think about kicking around some custom logo of your own...Ive bought valvecovers and stuff with names cast in them, - but always felt, wait, its not their engine, they didnt build it, why pay extra to advertise for someone else?

I REALLY REALLY like how Brad Barnett put HIS 'the mustang source' logos on his car- I think thats got far more 'cool' factor than just someone elses logo/name only affiliated by purchase...know what I mean? not as easy for sure, but still, if tastefully done thats awesome.

Well I got the rest of the stripes off and a buddy let me use his lift so I least I didn't break my back today. Since it was 60 and sunny I decided to lay down a fresh coat of wax. Pictures below minus the side stripes.

Rich,
I love the no side stripe look. Very clean, I like the GT emblems better then the pony emblems and I especially like the black bullitts.

Honestly, I thought your car looked absolutely great with the pony emblems and stripes. I'm not a fan of the changes, but as long as it dunks your Oreo, that's all that matters.

I have Rob from Baltimore Street Mods working a custom set of side stripes for me. He said he is alittle behind with all the storms on the East coast but I'm not in any hurry to put them on anyway. IMO I'm kind of liking the no-stripe look and will probably leave it like that for awhile.

I appreciate everyone's opinion ~

I personally prefer some sort of side stripes. But I think you've still got a great lookin' car with or without the stripes. Might I ask how long you had the stripes? And if you noticed any difference in the paint color under the stripes vs. the rest of the car?

I had the stripes put on the car about 2 weeks after I got it so they were on there for over 4.5 years. My car is always garaged and I didn't notice any discoloration.
