Anyone out there with Mustang Tuning's deep dish (18") Bullitts explain why the fronts need wheel spacers???? Just seems "different" that the company that makes them wouldn't have accounted for clearance, etc......or the fact that they should have been 18x8 or 18x8.5 rather than 18x9.

Comments are appreciated - and thanks!!!!

I did a search on the keyword "wheels" and Filter by Member Name "Original Sin". This link should answer your questions.

Do they actually need spacers for an 05 Mustang? I know Ford changed the front calipers on the 06 which resulted some of the aftermarket wheels (designed for an 05) need a 1/4 inch spacer in the front to fit properly...

Originally the rims didn't come with spacers, but the first few people who recieved the set had rubbing problems. Mustang tuning reimbursed these people with spacers, and now includes them rather than retooling the rim.

So Manny.....or anyone with these.....is it the '06's that need the spacers or both years?? I'm really interested in a set but I really don't like the idea of using spacers, seems like a bit of a sloppy fix for something specifically designed for our cars (or measured up for the 05 anyways).

Thanks again.....and thanks guys for the Magnum comments (and AFBLUE for the work, man you Moderators sure earn those big bucks!!)

It is my understanding that they have retooled rims on the way. No idea when they'll arrive, though...

I pulled the 2 ford drawings to see if their were any differences and the only thing I could come up with was the V6 caliper bracket is different than the one used on the GT 05 and 06. Looks like the bracket on the V6 will interfere with a wheel before the bracket on the GT. I don’t know if this helps any but I don’t see any other interference points. Your wheel issue could also be caused from the fact that many wheel manufactures use molds that have the ability to fit a cross section of cars and when demand exceeds availability they may try to short cut a process to get wheels to market. In witch case they may have left out a machining process to increase the volume and save time.

Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated. I'm also gonna give Mustang Tuning a call to get their angle on the issue.
