I think they make your back wheels look bigger. What did it set you back? Did the dealer paint them for you?

The rear mud flaps are from the accessories catalog? Where did you get the front ones from? I saw that they have to be modified, but I agree that anything that keeps the paint nice will help.

I could use these until I get some of the X-pel for the car. As stated above, you can always remove them for car shows since they are so easy of an install.
Most of the auto parts stores sell a cheap flat set for about $4. I got mine at Auto Zone, or O'Reily, don't remember for sure. To install them, there are two push pins holding on the front of your lower body molding. They are made of two piecies. Pull out the little pin that goes inside the larger piece. The screws supplied with the flaps actually fit right in the holes. So I didn't have to drill into it or anything. I can easily remove them and return them to stock. The hardest part was deciding where I wanted them to sit and getting the holes in the mudflaps drilled in the right place.

Hey hey hey!!! What's this "shipped by convoy......" stuff and you didn't even tell me. That aside, yes Bob, the back wheels do look bigger 'cause things up here in Canada are......well......bigger

The dealership farmed them out to a place our cruisers have been to and it cost an extra $120.00 (primarilly 'cause they have to weiner around with the flex that goes into the paint, can't get anyone to do it cheaper but I was in a pinch with the snow, salt and crap that's on our roads so really - who cares???)

So let's see those flaps on that yellow bullitt that's coming your way Mister!!!!!!!

Mark.

They look factory and you can't ask for much more than that.
I say
Some day, I will have to take a road trip to Alabama, and bring with me a token (bottle) of my appreciation 'cause you are the nicest

Thanks, Mark. Don't let some of the others hear you say that though. Apparently I'm very negative in my post.

As for the "token", that's a LONG way to go. I'll have to meet you half way. It'll give me a good excuse for a road trip.

Thanks Heath,

I have seen the ones from Autoparts etc, just did not know if Ford sold some that fit better. Will get a $4 set for mine as well.

I was thinking about mud flaps too till I did some web surfing and found the untilmate paint protectiuon. Clear 3M paint protection film sold by numourus sites on the web. Heres one site X-Pel http://www.xpel.com/products/paint.asp
The stuff goes on clear, stays clear, you can wash and wax it and it protects the paint from rocks and bugs and it has UV protection also. Cant beat that with mud fplas or nose bras. Im going to get it for the bumper and front end and get some for the areas behind each wheel also. You cant even see the stuff unless you get real close to it. Ill put some pics up when I get it done.
B) We had the x-pel installed several weeks ago on front of hood, front bumper, headlights lights, fog lights, Front signal lens, side rocker panels, rear wheel well and lower quarter panel to avoid chips and sand blasting. It is pricy but felt like it was worth it living at the beach with all the sand.
Tried to take photos of ours but it doesn't show well .... duuuuuh, it's clear and if done properly you can't see anything except the reveal line. And once you're 3 feet away it disappears unless the light hits it right.

Here's another site with a lot of photos: http://www.autoclearguard.com./gallery.html

B) O.K; took a lot of photo's today. Can you see the X-Pel? It just doesn't show up .... if you look closely at the front shot I can barely see the reveal line; and I know exactly where it is. THIS shot was a worse case with high light behind and reveal line of where the X-Pel shows up most in all the shots I took. And no, thats not the X-Pel showing on front lower portion of the rocker panel, it's dirt I wiped off the X-Pel later. I use Meguires Detail spray to wet and wipe with cotton cloth; just like the paint

For those of you who have installed the rear flaps from Ford - did you have to remove the rear wheels to get them on? Other than than, I guess you need a really short screwdriver or a right angle screwdriver? There's not much room to work there.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Removing the wheels would make it easier, but I didn't. I have an angled screwdriver that did the job. I took some time but I didn't really want to take off the wheels.

Talking

I got my OEM splash guards from Fred Martin Ford (Youngstown, OH) through eBay this week ($46.76 with shipping). And I must say that they make the Mustang look more aggressive. Plus, they save me a lot of time by keeping dirt and asphalt off the rear bumpers.

Hey, Jeremy, if you just would've waited another couple of weeks this thread would've been a year old.

Just saw the thread and got concerned when I read mudflaps. Having seen all the pics I actually think they look alright. Not for everyone but if they serve a purpose then why not!!

I make a point not to drive on dirt or fravel roads. If I had to though I would definately put the mud flaps on. Honestly they dont look bad at all, I mean hey its the new Mustang!

I think the mud flaps look good. For those who need them it's a good idea.

Yeah, I was skeptical at first, but with L.A. weather going crazy, I thought I'd give the splash guards a try. It's definitely not for everyone, but hey - everyone has their own tastes.

With winter coming on I got the molded (sp?) rear with no writing, guess I'll go the aftermarket route for fronts as I want plain there as well. I'll probably run fronts all winter then take them off when I switch out the snow tires come spring. Backs are staying on year round.
