definitely. the wax gives the adhesive nothing to bond to. rubbing alcohol is probaly enough to rmove most waxes.

Graphics Express says use Naptha and wipe it down ten times! An adhesive promoter is a good idea, too.

Definitely remove the wax - if you don't, expect to install the part or decal again in the future, only you'll have to buy a new one....

As to the adhesion promoter - good on plastics - word direct from the engineer who developed it at 3M (if we are referring to the 4098P) is that it is only for plastics, and not really for other surfaces, hence why we don't include it with our honeycomb panels - 3M's word is what we go by. We do use it on our panels, but just on the panel side, not the car side.

Of course, YMMV...

My short story is that I tried to have vinyl stripes put on with my car having Zanio on it, would not stick. I'm going at this again on Friday, and yesterday I wiped the area down 10 times with Naptha, and then washed it all off with some Dawn.....hope that works!!!
