Mod's Gone Too Far?

I've been trying to keep my mods 'stealthy' and make the car look like it was more of a factory special edition instead of a SEMA showcase. Well, I think maybe I've gone too far. I'm going to put a small tri-bar pony in the center of the grill to finish it off, but am not sure how much I like the overall look. I'll be leaving it this way for a while until I make up my mind. What do you guys think?

And yes, I plan on lining up the left headlamp splitter still.

That's a good looking Mustang, I like the "Factory Special" Look

Looks good how you have it IMO
Very clean.
The only thing I might add are the 1/2 painted mirror covers, not the full ones.

Forget the grille emblem, get some mirror caps and call it quits.

I don't like the mirrors either and know they're an eyesore, but the problem is that if I do anything, I'll end up replaceing them w/ the Agent47 Race mirror$.

Thanks Glenn, it'll look better w/ the pony in there - it's a little too open and plain right now. Besides, that first pic really has the sunlight shining in highlighting everything behind it.

Here's a different pic w/out the sunlight.

Where did you get those headlight covers? I really like them. Can you provide a little more info on them please, a link if possible?

I liked them too in the pics. They're from Vantage Sports Cars in Orlando. You'll have no problem finding them on google, and you'll need to email them to request a set. That said, I wouldn't get them again. They're a pain in the butt to get to look right. If you do get them, test fit BOTH SIDES before painting them and then again before installing either side. The back side of the splitter actually slips into the gap between the fender and the headlamp, but the factory gap isn't the same. I assume it's within tolerance since I never noticed it before, but the right gap is much tighter than the left gap. I put the left one on first, no problem, then went to do the right side and it wouldn't fit. To make matters worse, I did it with the grill out and when I snapped the grill back into place it moved the bumper 'post' between the grill and lamp changing that gap. So, I just need to remove the left (drivers) side, retape and reinstall. Maybe later, not real high on the priority list.

Oh, and I put the tint on behind the covers. I had to trim it so that the double stick tape would stick to the lamp and not the film. No big deal, but I hope that doesn't make removing that splitter even more difficult.

I'm not a fan of the headlight covers at all. They look like...well covers.... just masking over the headlights, and kind of hide the personality of the front end. I agree with you that the grille needs a pony in the middle of it or something because it doesn't look right with the fog lights filling up either side and just a void in the middle. Other than that, I'd say that's a pretty slick ride and wouldn't change anything else really. Maybe lower the car? I woudn't do stripes though just because so many people already do and it would ruin the uniqueness of the car. Sweet ride tho man

Definately going w/ a suspension kit, but not just yet. I'm waiting until I can afford the tire/rim combo I want, 17's up front and 18's in the rear w/ matched sidewalls. After I get a look at that gap I'll decide on what kit's going to even it out the best.

I'm not quite yet sold on the covers either. I was trying for that 70 look, but didn't quite get there.

The only things I don't like are the headlight covers and the emptiness in the center of the grill. Other than that It looks great.

I can't tell, but are the headlights tinted? Maybe you can go with a dark tint to get the '70 look. Or what about Agent 47's ram air kit?

You asked....
So don't get offended...please!

I do not like the headlight covers.
A tri-bar pony in the center of the grill would look great.
Then painted 1/2 mirror covers and you could always go with the clear turn signals. That never looks bad.
But there is just something about the headlight covers. I have seen the headlight splitters, (just the center piece) and they look really nice. But your covers seem to scream Autozone to me...

There, I said it... you asked.
but what matters most is that you like your car, and for you to be asking this question, then you have something that seems like it just isn't right.

My 2 other pet peeves are chroming up a mustang and decals that state the obvious like MUSTANG across the windshield or along the sides.
You didn't ask for that, but I figured I'd throw it out there.

Hey, no problem. Like I said, I think the covers may be coming off. I can say that they honestly do look better in person though.

It may actually ve the tint messing the look up.

As some have mentioned. Get the Tribar for the grill and remove the headlight covers. Rims with suspension work would totally set the car off. Great job so far.

I'm also considering that grill. Looks good
