MMD Chin Spoiler? Pics pls

Anyone got the MMD chin spoiler? What do you all think of it fit-wise? Quality wize? Anyone got any pics? I'm having a hard time finding anything other than the customer pics on American Muscle.

In case anyone's not sure which one I'm talking about:

I'm thinking about ditching the CDC aggressive chin -- just sick of scraping it all the time. Paint's cracked to hell because it caught on a lip pulling into the parking garage at work. Rather than pay to get it repainted (with stripes thats an expensive proposition) and do the same thing over again, I'm looking for something that's going to give me the same kind of look, but isn't as oversized. Added bonus: I won't catch anymore crap from my brother about my "80's camaro wannabe chin"

I have one on mine. Great piece for the price -- fit well and installed easily.

How's the finish? Is it textured?

Car looks great with it, btw

Thanks. Yes, it is textured. I keep a good coating of 303-brand protectant on it. Just be careful of curbs and parking stops!

How heavy is the texture? Like the plastic on the mirrors? Or on the GT500 / GT/CS rear bumper? I can probably have the grain filled if its not too bad. I'm looking to paint it to match my old chin:

(as you can tell, I know all about having to avoid curbs )

The texturing is coarser than the mirrors. In order to be painted like the one you have, it would have to be sanded and/or filled for sure.

Depending on the car colour I like the black contrast
And I like the less aggressive look over the cervini

Here on my car:

Never park "front end" with these cars, they are too low resulting in damage. Always back-in to the space till the tires hit the parking bump, 0 damage.

Yeah thats pretty much the same style as the CDC Classic chin with those character lines that shoot straight down from the grille opening. I don't know why, I've just never been a fan of that (even not that much on the GT/CS bumper). I prefer the oval opening that the CDC Agressive chin and this one give you:

Totally agree, and always do. Problem is those times when you're pulling into out of a driveway/parking garage and its too **** steep

Yeah, I think you would want to paint that IMO.

I've seen some pictures on American Muscle with partially painted Chin Spoiler.
On the pictures it looksa little bit like CS Bumper.
Dont know how that looks in real life

Another point is costs.
I had scratches unter my Chin Spoiler after driving 2 days.
When you paint it once, then you will have to paint it every month ;-)

Lol, yep, that would definitely be oval When I was doing my 60k refresh and had the stripes done, I was between the Street Scene Gen 1, Gen 2, or the stock w/ CDC aggressive chin and it was close between the Gen 2 and the setup I eventually went with. The look I'm going for is to keep it pseudo-shelby/OEM looking, so I'd like to stick w/ a chin on the stock bumper. Plus I forgot how much money they want for a Street Scene bumper ($600+) is out of the question.

So i got a quote from the nearest body shop that does custom work. To do everything, $770, which includes the cost of the spoiler ( $160) and the lower grille ($50), as well as paint and labor (fill/sand the spoiler, figure out how to reinstall the grille since most of the locating tabs were cut off when the CDC spoiler was installed) if I just have them do the filling/sanding /painting, then i think it'd be closer to $380. Stripes... They'll kill ya.

Just ordered the spoiler from AM. Going to try it out black and plasti-dip the rockers and the rear bumper (it's a GT500 bumper I painted like a GT/CS, which I'll turn back into a GT500). Maybe if i black out the whole perimeter it'll look better

Can you guys send me some closeups od where the spoiler meets the grille? I may have a problem here

The Aggressive chin took its toll on the original bumper

I just used a heat gun to warm the urethane up to about 220 deg and supported it. We'll see how much that helps.

you can see how gnarly the mouth looks on the passenger side. I'm really hoping the new chin comes right up to the grill so you won't see any of this

So got the spoiler today and did a test fit

edit: ok here are the pics. What do you guys think of the blacked out rockers, etc?

overall, i like it. I'll pull it out tomorrow afternoon and get some better pics.

what worries me is its hard plastic, not urethane. how easy is this thing gonna crack? Anyone hit theirs?

I like the black rockers a lot, and, if I had been thinking abiut it, plastidipping mine would have been a lot smarter and less expensive than buying a pair of V6 OEM units off of ebay.

From one Tungsten owner to another, your car is looking good!
