Thanks everyone. Black it is.
That configurator on the Mustang Source is great. Unfortunately for me, my monitor make mineral gray actually look gray (the color that I wish that Ford offered) instead of the grayish-brown it is now. So, I am still unsure as to how the black stripes will look.

I want ghost like stripes. Those that are barely there. I actually hate racing striped on a car, excluding antiques, yet I do think the car needs something. The car just looks blah like it is on the front. It's blan & boring. But someone did ghost stripes for me by photoshop on this board & I really kinda like them. So, that's the way I would go. They're there but just barely noticable.
Anyway. That's JMO. Good luck without whatever you decide.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

Congrats 38special. Those look killer. I have black vinyl stripes on mine (pics to come soon), but eventually will have the rally stripes painted. How much was it to have the rally stripes painted, if you don't mind me asking?

I had quotes of between 1200 and 2000 dollars when I met up with the guy that I used. It cost me 1050 and before he started, I told him if the job was real good that I would tip him 10 - 15 percent and refer a few folks to him for similar work.
He wetsanded all "to be painted surfaces" of my car, masked it off, painted the stripes; only two coats needed because of the similarity of color; wetsanded the stripes; 4 coats of clear coat, buff and wax...
The promise of the tip made the difference. Only three added miles to my car when I got it back in 4 days also was a plus. I have had techs burn a half of a tank of gas in my rides before.
Best 100 dollar tip that I ever spent. Worth every penny.

Ok, finally got my digital camera back to take the pics. Here's one after getting the vinyl stripes. They are gloss black. I am not very impressed with the vinyl though. They look fine from a few feet away and more, but up close you can tell it's vinyl. I will be having the stripes painted on ASAP. But for now, it's a fairly cheap alternative.
38special... quick question for you. You said you wet sanded everything that was being painted... did you actually have the stripes taped off prior to sanding, or did you just have the entire hood, roof, etc. wet sanded before taping off the stripes? Just curious to how extensive the job is.
