Midwest Auto Gear Shock (strut) Tower Cover install

*2nd generation covers installed 2/17/07, riding condition has been eliminated* See this thread, post #72 and sub for 1st gen issue.

New pics at bottom of this post.

Midwest Auto Gear Shock Tower Cover Install

This install is so simple, I give it a '1' out of '10' for technical difficulty. Basically, anyone can install it.

Out of the box

Picture of stock strut studs

I applied a liberal amount of grease on the center strut stud (threaded end) because it's prone to corrosion and once covered, I doubt I'll ever take it off.

Cover set into position

Using firm pressure on the center of the cap, press down until it 'snaps' into place.

Shock (strut) Tower Covers installed.

That isn't a joke, it's very true indeed. Have you gotten close to 500 miles yet Bill ?

Funny you should mention that... I just checked yesterday when I backed it out from the garage to install the shock covers.

It's at 599 MILES.

I'll break 600 tonight when I go to my club's drive-in show. It's history in the making!

That might actually deserve a 0.2 on the difficulty scale, especially if you skip the grease step. Look good. I'll have to add them to the x-mas list.

They're on my list too. I want to wait until they have a version that will clear my STB. They should be available soon.

Looks good Bill. I think they look better on your car because of the two tone effect you get since your car isn't black.

Looks good but I prefer the strut tower brace. Maybe they will make something that will address that issue.

Another nice mod Bill!

I have the engine cover, so don't want the STB rubing on it.
