Midwest Auto Gear Shock Tower Cover Install

This install is so simple, I give it a '1' out of '10' for technical difficulty. Basically, anyone can install it.

Out of the box

I applied a liberal amount of grease on the center strut stud (threaded end) because it's prone to corrosion and once covered, I doubt I'll ever take it off.

Using firm pressure on the center of the cap, press down until it 'snaps' into place.

That isn't a joke, it's very true indeed. Have you gotten close to 500 miles yet Bill ? :-D

Funny you should mention that... I just checked yesterday when I backed it out from the garage to install the shock covers.

It's at 599 MILES.

I'll break 600 tonight when I go to my club's drive-in show. It's history in the making! :jester:

Lowe! 11/15/06 03:39 PM

That might actually deserve a 0.2 on the difficulty scale, especially if you skip the grease step. Look good. I'll have to add them to the x-mas list.

Northwest GT 11/15/06 08:06 PM

They're on my list too. I want to wait until they have a version that will clear my STB. They should be available soon.

LEO_06GT 11/15/06 11:48 PM

Looks good Bill. I think they look better on your car because of the two tone effect you get since your car isn't black.

smokenpony 11/16/06 05:05 AM

I received an e-mail from Midwest saying mine were shipped yesterday

mtchstng 11/16/06 05:49 PM

GRAYPNY 11/16/06 10:04 PM

Looks good but I prefer the strut tower brace. Maybe they will make something that will address that issue.

Another nice mod Bill! :nice:

I have the engine cover, so don't want the STB rubing on it.
