Midwest Auto Gear Radiator Cover Extensions

I am lucky enough to live near these guys and stopped in today to purchase some shock tower covers. (Always hated those bare bolts).

I came home with a NEW product that will be available soon off of their web site. I asked if I could post these pics and they said - 'No problem'

They are a great bunch of people. I even got a plant tour from the president himself - very cool equipment!

Keep an eye on their site for these beauties.
Sorry for the poor pic quality in 9 degree weather I was in a hurry, but you should get the idea.

Midwest Auto gear !
PS: (I don't know about pricing - sorry )

I believe they only plan on black, but I could be wrong. The finish is like the stock factory peice.

Those look awesome! Do you think they will interfere with the aftermarket intakes? It looks like you removed yours to install them.

The products I have gotten from MAG have been real good both in quality and fit. When you were at their place, any mention of the battery covers they were going to make?

No problem with the stock intake. What you see is just because I'm in the middle of my 'Winter mods' New 62mm throttle body, smaller SC pulley… and a new Steeda intake pipe (had the filter but not the pipe)

Ed: They said they had a fuse box cover in the works, I don't remember any mention of a battery cover. I got the impression they have several things icoming out soon. I bet we see them soon as well. I like that idea. They have the most amazing plastic 'sand' and laser fabrication machines. Seems like all they need are ideas with a market and they will turn it into reality.

So how much did the "radiator extensions" cost???

You stated in an earlier post that the extension match the factory radiator cover.....But looking at the pic the extensions appear darker. So my question to you is is your rad cover dirty or is just a bad pic??

I ran across them making a battery cover by accident at:

www.midwestautogear.com/gallery1.

Sent them an email and they said it was going to be worked on but they were in the middle of doing the redesign of the strut tower covers. IMO it would be a good seller

I like those extenders. I would hope that they would offer them in body colors to go along with the radiator cover and shock tower covers I already purchased from them which they do offer in body colors.

+1. They look much darker than the factory rad cover, making them stick out too much in my opinion.

Leo, I think once I clean and put a little silicone on the factory peice they will match perfectly. It's more of a shine difference currently than a color one IMO. The finish looks exaclty the same texture wise as stock. Yes I must admit my rad cover is dirty I didn't touch it before the pic and its been in the cold garage since December.

MAG is pretty finicky about finish, they even use a two step paint and clear process to match the factory colors on their painted products so I think it will match.

I'll see if I can a get a chance tonight to thaw out a bottle of shine-up and take a better pic.

Works with factory air intake, but do you think it will interfere with after market ones?

Never say never right? but I don't really see how aftermarket intakes could get in the way unless they use these areas for mounting something. There is very little vertical clearance in these spots.

I bet if they didn't work for you they would take it back.

I'll wait for your pic then before making my decision on these.

The covers that he has are painted Ebony so they match the body color. The as molded parts match the factory radiator cover. They will be offered in all 14 body colors. Here's some on an Orange GT.

Nice, I like the radiater extensions. Do you plan on offering the passenger side without the prop rod hole or maybe some kind of plug for the guys with hood struts?

Midwest... Put me on the waiting list! (if there is one)

I would need the plug as well because of the hood struts. I was debating between black or white, but after seeing the GO, I'm thinking Performance White is the way to go.

Well after seeing them on the GO I'm in. I'll be needing one with the hood prop cover as well.

Hey I just noticed the painted fuse box cover is that in the works too????
