I'm "trying" to get PNYXPRS, but the VT. Dept. of Motor Vehicles is successfully mucking up whenever they get the chance. Goes like this;
1.) got the plates in ten days, but the morons at the dept. of corrections mis-spelled the plate PNYXPSR :angry:
2.) call dmv. they said "sorry, and please send back old plates, and we'll quickly send you correct ones.
3.) ten days later, I called dmv again. They said they "lost" the second order :angry: and put in a new one, and said it will be there in 5 days.
4.) ten days later, I called dmv again. They said it must be in the "reject pile, which is really big, so we'll have to check it and call you back". :angry:
5.) 5 days later, I called the dmv again. Told them my temp tag is about to expire and where the heck is my cool plate? :angry:
6.) 2 days later I received new "temp plates", and I have no idea where my plates are now.
Bottom line; specialty plates can have their upsides and downsides.

Someone on the board has MV8TANG. I like that one a lot. Mine is personal to me. Just has my nickname: MOZE GT. No biggie.
Oh, and to answer your question - I would side againt using "retro" at all. I understand where you are going, but... I also don't like using model years unless it's a classic. So, FSTBAK or the like are good. I also like some of the other suggestions people made.
